Picture loss after 90mins

For the past couple of days, it seems that after 60 to 90 mins of use, the DTR1000 stops sending video an audio data to my TV, initally it all stops for a few seconds, then comes back, this repeats at 3 or 4 minute intervals, then at 90mins, the periods of loss are much longer. The box responds to he pause and play buttons on the remote, but ignores the power button on the remote. The box kind of responds to the long press of the blue power button on the front of the YV box, but it does not boot normally, the screen stays blank an then displays an image. Only a full power cycle helps the box recover.

Thoughts?

Maybe related to this item http://community.youview.com/youview/...

    quote:

My Sony 40Z4500 has worked fine since day 1 of YV box ownership, now in the last 10days it has problems after about 90mins of viewing. The pictures is lost for a few seconds, then comes back, this goes on for about 10mins and then then the image goes completely and will not come back without a full power cycle of the YV box.

I have reset the YV box (without deleting the recordings), swapped the HDMI cables over and done a factory reset on the TV last night, this morning got up, turned on the YV box and TV, went to have breakfast, went back upstairs 90mins later, no image on the screen.

Is there anyway to know if this is something to do with the auto-standby function? If the box goes to auto standby, what expected event or button press is expected to kick the YV box out of standby?

Also what buttons presses are expected to stop the unit going into auto-standby?

Any button (apart from the standby button of course), The Exit button is handiest as it does not do anything nor pop up andy on-screen displays to spoil your viewing pleasure.

This morning, turned on the YV box, but not the TV. Went and had breakfast and a little bit of work, after an hour went upstairs and turned on the TV, no picture was being put out by the YV box.

This is looking more and more like a YV T1000 problem, have now turned ECO mode to low, turned off and rebooted the T1000, will do a similar test again.

Hi SW - is it just the video that's missing, or the entire HDMI output including graphics? (an easy way to tell is it mute and you'll see the mute symbol on the screen all the time, even if the TV/Video stops).

What TV do you have? You've quoted a post about Sony, but not sure if you have the same model.

Does the TV say "no signal", or "unsupported signal"?

What about the light on the front of the YouView box? Is it blue or amber when the problem occurs?

What is the value of the auto standby time setting in Settings > Device Management?

Have you tried plugging into the TV via a scart lead? This will help to rule out any incompatibilities with HDMI.

    thanks.

    Thanks Piers.

Your questions. The TV is a Sony 40Z4500, the image and sound both stop for 10s to 40s periods, the on screen graphics also stop working during this time. No error message is displayed by the TV, it just shows the HDMI2 symbol as if the cable had been unplugged or the YV box was turned off. The light on the YV box is Blue. The auto standby time is set to 4 hours.

Last night, I also set the ECO mode to Low, then power cycled the box using the switch on the back. After about an hour the problem occured, at this point I pressed and held the power button on the YV box, to turn the device off, then also used the switch on the back to fully power cycle the box, then pressed the power button to turn on the box, it took a very long time to boot, longer than normal.

So far today, I have had no picture problems, ECO mode is still set to Low.

So far, touch wood, after resetting the box, forcing the reset and power off, the HDMI issues have been resolved.
