    A) I'm quite happy the way it is, there are far more important issues.

Are you going to vote then? The idea is to automatically count the number of supporters of each option. I meant to say hit good point rather than Like.

    I want A AND B

    Default - delete requires confirmation.

Option in the setup menus to remove the confirmation if required.

I'd like an option (F), fix the delete confirmation, but also solve the "On Demand" bugs like freezing and iPlayer losing a border, speed up the Guide, stop the App crashing for a day every few weeks, speed up start up, remove high ECO mode as you might as well turn off the box, reduce Low ECO mode consumption (presently costs about £20 / year to keep the box on standby).

    I take it C and D aren't mutually exclusive, I selected both.

No problem. Having to work within the confines of the forum functionality.

I voted for A and C, a recycle bin would be nice but it's fine the way it is.

My preferences from most to least would be B -> D -> C for me it seems what is the point of spending a long time programming a recycle bin when a simple confirmation question would solve the problem of accidently deleting recordings. The recycle bin is a bit like using a sledge hammer to crack a nut!

If you offered options G to Z they would all have their admirers I'm sure. It was broke, it has been fixed, leave well alone. There are far important things that need attention.

I don't believe it has been fixed (as per redchiz response), I have just installed the new software update and it still deletes silently on a single press of del button. (which is very disappointing)

    This does need fixing

B or C. I'm not that worried about having no confirmation if I have a chance to recycle if I make a mistake.

    B or C, much prefer B though.

Or have a menu option to choose between A and B.

I should really have pointed out that the relative serious or priority of this issue compared to others is not the point of this poll. I suggest option E) is there for anyone who has thinks that there are more important things needing attention.

    Hi All,

As an original trialist, I suggested to Youview that there should be a two stage delete process and / or confirmation.
Firstly, for items not locked, a confirmation (by pressing the Okay button) that you want the recording to be deleted.
Secondly, for locked items, a confirmation (by entering the PIN number and then pressing the Okay button) that you actually want to delete this item because you asked the box not to delete the item automatically, if the hard drive became full. Along with a suitable warning / warnings that once you have pressed Okay that this action can't be undone.
I'd call it the Dufus option, but give it whatever letter you prefer.

it's very disappointing that they didn't follow your advice. This looks very logical.
