Al Jazeera English (AJE HD) is now on air with its full schedule on channel 108 from the new mux (Mux COM7) at Crystal Palace. The DOG is it's Arabic logo (Al Jazeera or "the island") with "HD" in Roman letters at its bottom right.

The placeholders for Cbeebies HD(74); BBC Four HD (106) and BBC News HD (107) are also up. The slide on these channels has the full list of the new BBC HD channels rather than just BBC Three HD and CBBC HD listed on the slides from mux PSB3/BBCB, the original HD mux.

Note: there is a rollout programme to add the new HD mux to the main transmitters only so it may not yet be available in other regions. In addition the transmitter is 15.6 Kw rather than the existing ones at Crystal Palace which are 200 Kw. Those living in more distant parts of the service area may have problems with reception.

Actually Crystal Palace is broadcasting at 36.3kW. If you (as I suspect) got your information from UKfree, that site is woefully out of date at the moment. Hopefully it will get updated soon - it's a good source normally when I'm retuning.

A full table of transmitters, their known launch date for COM7, and the ERP, has been compiled from the Digital UK postcode checker here: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showpo...

Other transmitters launching COM7 today are Black Hill, Winter Hill and Belmont.

Incidentally, Belmont is also launching the first Local TV service, Estuary TV, today.

Yes that was my source and I remember there were mentions that the initial test transmissions were using old equipment left over from before DSO.

Either way, the power relative to the existing muxes will mean some being able to receive the others but not the new ones.
