Question regarding the update schedule for retail Humax DTR T2110 boxes
This is really for a YouView employee to answer. In Gwatuk's great review of the new Humax DTR T2110 sold retail but with a BT badge, he lists the software version. This appears to be a modified previous BT version and has not updated to either a later retail or BT software release. (I've started a new thread as this topic is getting lost in the discussion and does not show up as a search.)
You have previously clarified that all DTR T1000 boxes sold retail, whether these have a BT logo or not, have the retail version of the software pushed to them. Only DTR T1000 boxes with the BT logo and supplied by BT should be getting the BT version. Perhaps you can confirm this again.
Gwatuk's box seems to have been prevented from getting the most recent updates for both retail and BT software variants. So perhaps you can clarify:
1. Will BT badged Humax DTR T2110 boxes sold retail get a version of the BT or retail software?
2. Will the updates for the DTR T2110 be the same as those for the DTR T1000/T1010 series?
3. If they get the retail version, have the YV servers been provided with the identifiers for these new boxes so they can at least update to the December 2013 software?
I'll also put in yet another plea for you to give some sort of indication when the different tranches of retail boxes will be allowed access to a "rolled out" software update. My box, supplied as a replacement in January 2013 only got the December update on 10 January. A manual update for the January software starts to download but is then blocked. Obviously my box is not yet on the list of boxes you kindly permit access. Is this down to the server looking at the serial number or the unique identifier? Some sort of provisional schedule with the announcement of when a customer can expect to be able to update their box(es) would save a lot of frustration and help resolve a number of questions that arise on here.
