I'm loving being able to have the HD channels at the top of the Guide :-)

It does not have the STV player, NOW tv, netflix etc. So it's a waste of money!

Surely it's only at the top of the guide if that's the channel you are tuned to. ie no change.

It has Netflix. There is a dedicated button on the remote - just press it!

No STV, true, but that only makes it a possible waste of money for those who voted (or could have voted) SNP :-)

No NowTV, alas, but you can cast that from just about any tablet or smartphone - even including iOS (Apple) devices, to the built in Google Chromecast. And only the TV has to be a registered NowTV device - the casting device doesn't.

For this and many other gems, look out for my YouView on Sony UFAQ (Unofficial FAQ) now released to this very Community!

Huh? The Guide is the Guide. Have you ever seen channels move in the Guide on a YouView PVR? :-)

But I see what you mean - and no, the Guide hasn't been paged through.

It's worth me zooming in on that picture, as below, where you can see the little (and real!) HD on each of the Channel logos from 001 to 004, and the 'usual' SD 005 and 006 following them

Perhaps he switched the "PiP" screen off.

My HD channels are nearly always at the top of my guide. That's because I only really watch BBConeHD.

What happens if you press guide when on Dave?

But I know you are proud of your ability to number it 001 and it's an ability that makes sense to most people.

No PiP. The set is supposed to do PiP (or PaP at least), but not yet.

Hoever, the sound from the channel you are on continues, and you can dimly see the full picture behind the Guide, as with the blue/grey blurs above the 10:00 to 11:00 in the original picture above,

How come you have HD channels at the start of the EPG?

    Because I put them there!

See my YouView on Sony UFAQ to learn how, and for many other things the regular FAQ won't tell you :-)

Your U Guide states Favourite Channels? - No.
    Which is what I figured.

Plod on one more question from there :-)

I've numbered them now - I should have thought of that before.

    14. Is there Channel Hiding/Reordering? Not in YouView, but...... you can do both in the Freeview side of things – Home/Setting/Channel Setup/Digital Setup/Digital Tuning/Programme List Edit (an option that is greyed out when you are in Freeview), and the changes are preserved when you go back to YouView, as long as you don’t accept the retune option when you do.I don’t know how stable this will be though, or if YouView will seek to reassert its default tuning at a later point.

Excellent work my friend but thats a fault/quirk as far as I can tell. Though in the above you need to state if YouView is on or off (kiss).

Ah - you found a typo that means it does not make sense :-(

It should say 'greyed out when you are in YouView'.

Apologies - I've now fixed it, and also emphasized that you edit the list when YouView is Off.

Yes, much. :)  But its not a feature I'd personally use. I'm also normally a hard wire kind of guy, but the WiFi on this TV is brilliant. I'll talk more on your U guide thread, but I'd just like to state this YouView TV is exciting.

I don't know if I am going to leave it that way, or even if it will perhaps turn into a pumpkin at midnight. We shall see.

I welcome more comment on the UFAQ, but can't change it at the mo, since it's a bit frozen, as somebody didn't read the rules, and Liked it :-(

No names, no pack drill :-)

But, possibly for the first time ever, I have requested that one of my postings be Unliked, and I hope that will restore my editing capability.

Oh, and yes, that was me. Credit where credit is due. The sting in the tale is in my last sentence on that reply to Keith :-)

Turn the automatic channel update to 'off' and you'll keep it. Or perhaps turn it 'on' anyway, just to see what happens. :)

    Ta!

Though does that really turn the automatic Guide updating right off, or just restrict it to happening when the TV is On?

It is indeed - well spotted. It is running Vista. The centre machine is a Lenovo Ideapad running Windows 8.1, and the right hand one a Lenovo Thinkpad running XP still.
The Dell Studio XPS running Windows 7 is out of the picture,

For extra credit, please identify what that is on the wall above the TV :-)
