Looks fantastic and its totally unexpected in all honesty!! :-)
Pure speculation at the moment but it looks like the pointless "On-Demand" section that was clogged up with paytv content has gone too; can anyone confirm if there will be "something new" that brings together the on-demand content?

    Nothing at the moment, certainly.

Mind you it does say it will takes months to roll out to all its customers :-(

BT have always stated it will come in January, not sure what is best, get in early or get in when it actually works :-)

New Logo and Website, you really are spoiling us :-)

(are we having a sweepstake on what the new logo will look like )  ;-)

A sweepstake on what can be seen in the graphic at the top of the thread?

No, not yet. But YouView have a commitment to both platform and box neutrality. Which in a way is Interoperability. As their continued commitment to the T1000s attests. So they will get it eventually.

Err,  "YouView will also be rebranding with a new logo, new website and support site"  does that mean the 'support site' is changing?  Getting off 'GetSatisfaction' (whose emails are always marked spam, due to that name alone).  Might it work better?

A new flavour of forum software would be welcome though :-)

The reviews seem to be a bit at odds. Engadget says sometime before summer for BT and Retail whereas SEENIT says very very soon.

    Just for completeness

It think Adam means the old Discover section, originally part of On Demand back in the day, before it was separated out.

Discover won't be part of the Main Menu in next week's launch.
And I can't comment on any suggestions as to whether it will make a triumphant return later...

I stupidly thought a 'rebranded' logo would be something more than just filling in the old logo...stupid me.

Is it just me or does it sound like talktalk were desperate for something and are launching as early as possible (possibly a bit too early). How much say do the isp's get in deciding when to launch.

    This sounds good

With the move from an Adobe Flash-based platform to one that is HTML-5-based, which has been ongoing for some time, YouView has become more open with third-party content providers such as Netflix finding it easier to join.

Halton said that there was “a pipeline of new content partners” that would be brought on board over the next few months.

If you look at some of the recent discussions elsewhere when this news was effectively leaked you will see that the reaction of the TalkTalk triallists - who should have been keeping their mouths shut! - was overwhelmingly positive.

It is one thing trialling something when you expect issues...it is quite another forcing it on people who are not prepared to be used as testers....like I said let's hope you are right.

I do hope you are right and as you say most previews seem positive, it just concerns me that I thought BT were driving and talking about this update and yet still seem to suggest they could be a few months from releasing. Why the difference.
