This isn't a new idea it is highlighting the removal of the previous sensible system that has been there for years.
If I were cynical I would suggest that youview want us to have to find the catch-up version (if available) because we cannot skip adverts.

Never attribute to a conspiracy that which can be explained as a simple cockup. Or series thereof.......

Yes at the moment its 'Enter Enter'. Not perfect I know but me poor fingers....

"As such the next gen software needs to implement deep linking to return one back to the relevant recording tile, even especially if it is within a series roll up tile."

There will never be a perfect solution for this.

YouView could perfectly well settle for one of the seven or so suggestions that have been made to improve matters here; striving for an unattainable perfection should not be allowed to delay or inhibit this process.

Software update 28.26.0 that begins roll out today addresses this issue returning the user as expected to the exact tile one entered from even if it is within a series folder.

This should be very welcome use to all users!
