In the old gen software if one exited a recording that was rolled up within a series rollup/folder then one was returned to the specific recording. This allowed one to delete it and/or move on to the next item in the series with the minimum of effort.
In the next gen software on exiting a recording that is within a series rollup tile one is returned to the MyTV main tile for that series rollup. As such one then has to re-enter the tile and move the focus within that rollup back to the episode just watched before hitting delete. This is a needlessly clumsy mechanism.
As such the next gen software needs to implement deep linking to return one back to the relevant recording tile, even if it is within a series roll up tile.

If I were cynical I would suggest that youview want us to have to find the catch-up version (if available) because we cannot skip adverts.

There will never be a perfect solution for this.
YouView could perfectly well settle for one of the seven or so suggestions that have been made to improve matters here; striving for an unattainable perfection should not be allowed to delay or inhibit this process.
This should be very welcome use to all users!
