Sony Android TV YouView Update???

Will this happen in line with what's happening on the TalkTalk & BT & Standalone YouView boxes?

YouView on the Sony Android TVs is already more graphical than CurrentGen; its Guide already operates on a 'transparency rather than mini TV' basis; there are no Recordings or Schedules, so no MyTV; there are no ISP features, so no YourTV; and there is nothing YouView-specific to set, so no Settings.

So what, apart from updating the logo and typography, do you envisage YouView NextGen might be able to bring to the table for the TVs?

Android TV boxes run the same operating system and so it can perform many of the same functions, from running games ,web related apps, movies, music etc as the main source of TV.The size of the android smart tv box is very small and it can be put any places of your home easily. The price of the smart tv box is very cheaper than others.

Yes, Sony Android TV is better but Tvboxaddons has provided electronics products with excellent features to the people. With several Android smart TV box channels accessible, you are ensured to have an assortment of programming to browse. You will have the capacity to look over open channels or private channels and not bother about low quality channels. You can watch your favorite movies, TV series without any difficulty whatsoever. With the Android TV box you will have access to the percentage of the best channels that are available out there.

Roy, did you really edit a two-week old comment just a couple of hours ago, or is the front page deceiving me?

Editing does not change time stamps on postings, though it would update my 'last activity' time.

As Visionman avers, there were those spreading Malays here again, which I commented on.

When the Malays were told to lump it, my comment went with them, but the last posting stayed set with the time of the now-vanished posting.

I have brought this to the attention of GetSat, who will no doubt wish to fix it in the fullness of time.

After all, I only last reported this three years ago, which is an eyeblink in GetSat time, just as it is in YouView time :-)

You have/had me at a complete disadvantage as I had/have no idea what (the) Malays means other than people from Malaysia. Genuinely confused.

A person from Malaysia, who was spamming on here, is no longer. But Roys reply time stamp remains. Its a fault with the Get Sat software.

Ah. Bit racist really. No reason why the origin, apparent or otherwise, of a spammer should become shorthand for abuse.

The foreshortening of being British is a 'Brit'. Australian an 'Aussie' And just the same with they.
But do keep up the non-confrontational community spirit.

Well, I've reported it now, some of us clearly have a different understanding of these things. I genuinely did not have a clue what you were on about, I just thought you were trying to be clever with some kind of in the know reference. But you have confirmed that it was based on race. Shame on you.

It appears two users on here have irony, the other, sadly, has a confrontational attitude across the forum which has caused disintegration beyond belief. Enough is enough.

Think through your alleged irony next time rather than blaming the reader. Enough is enough indeed.

I first made the Malays/malaise joke, which Visionman has nicely echoed, when these people spammed before.

As in this case, my response vanished when their reply was deleted, an occupational hazard which I accept, and indeed accepted graciously when a recent reply of yours was removed, redchiz :-)

However, the term Malay is not a contraction, like Brit, but a genuine alternative to Malaysian; and in fact can refer to a wider grouping than just people from that country. And it was used, first by me, and then by Visionman, in a purely descriptive fashion.

Unlike 'Brit' which can be faintly derisive, especially iwhen used by North Americans, 'Malay' carries no derogatory or pejorative overtones.

    Even though 'spammer' certainly does.

A rather unlovely spam spat has been removed, and the GetSat software is not restoring the 'Last reply' situation correctly for the last posting that was actually allowed to stand.

    See:-

    https://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisf...

But never mind, your posting (and now mine) have rectified that going forward.

Was getting excited that something had happened that meant YouView was worth using on my Sony TV.

    Sadly not.

To be honest I never got how YouView was going to work outside of the STB setting for which it was designed, it does seem that the SONY experiment was a bit of a blind alley.
