    So, have had this update a couple weeks now & thought I would refresh what I hate about this system after a bedding in period. I am a working Mum of a toddler so the need for speed & ease of use it a must.
    *The guiding popping up when you turn on. Unless you watch the first 5 channels its hopeless.
    *Hidden Channels. I have new subscription channels I want to hide. It annoys the **** out of me that Im going to be forced to scroll through irrelevant content.
    *Search. In Now & Next it shows me content of the subscription channels. Look up "Paw Patrol" on "Now and Next". You will see my frustration.
    *The mini TV screen gone in the guide.
    *After watching a show it takes you back to the main guide. Risk of deleting whole series & the hassle of finding the specific episode to delete it.
    *LISTS!!!!!!! Bring these back!!! The tiles are a complete pain. They are very difficult to manage. I bought a YouView box for my Mum & she loved it. She is now saying "I dont use it anymore, I cant find anything". Waste of an expensive Christmas present.
    WILL SOMEONE ON SUPPORT PLEASE LISTEN TO US. We are the consumers who bought a particular product to fulfil a need. You have taken us back in time.
    When I get a moment I am going to get in touch with Trading Standards because this whole situation feel so wrong!!!!
    This update should have been rolled out to new boxes only!!! I feel like ive been swindled.
    I would be interested for people to add additional complaints on this thread. So much has been said across so many threads. Would be good to have them in one list.

    Those dreadful tiles are a fashion craze. Designers think they are not "with it" if they use the time honoured and much more practical lists. Support does not listen. It will pass. But for now, I think we are beaten.

    I quite agree. The tiles are typical design "style before substance". In the space the tiles take up one could fit a great deal of text information in the form of a LIST!!!

    Indeed. In fact, I fail to believe that the 'office junior' who came up with that idea (and no doubt got himself a nice badge) , is yet to earn enough money to purchase and actually use a YouView box for himself.  Like a child slapping far too much ketchup on his chips and rendering them inedible.

    Very poetic, but just not true at all Visionman. If someone adds an  impertinent comment - which is subsequently responded to - then the thread has taken  a detour away from the original point,  becoming  'hijacked'.

    Hijacking is generally regarded as adding your own issue to an existing one and diverting away from that accordingly. As this is a general discussion topic, rather than one of individual support, I do not believe that really applies here.

    I like the tiles too. Though for completeness across all the internet, this is the only forum where it appears the majority hate them. All the rest are split.
    Though all users on all fora agree they need much work.
    I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

    You sound like a decent spin doctor Visionman. You after a job with the Donald?  :-)   Anyway, seems the please all option is to have both lists and tiles, chosen within user prefs.

    Appreciate what you are saying there, but, how do Youview then develop futher? Take a positive affirmation of NG  based on people who are not posting anywhere?  ie - assume that if you are not moaning then you are happy? Dangerous game that.

    I am sorry to hear that. As someone with poor eyesight myself if you, or he can explain how a written list with smaller characters than those now presented is harder to follow I will be glad to hear. And I am not opposed to options.

    I don't speak for YouView, there may be reasons for that, that is a big part of the overall discussion. What is it that is better with lists rather than tiles in the situation you mention? As someone with poor eyesight myself I genuinely don't understand.

    They are avoiding the issue. Many many people want lists. If Youview don't want to give us lists, then they should come out on here with an official statement of why they can't/won't offer that.  To me, looking at my view it's just a mess. I don't want pictures  - that the majority of the time do not even correlate with the recorded program - I want simple, plain lists.OR an option for such.

    I don't think they are avoiding anything. Some people have expressed a preference for lists, true. Now, take a step back and see if there is any other platform which offers the differential you suggest. There is no point banging on about the same thing over and over again. You have been heard. Wait and see what happens.

    Obviously people with poor field of vision will struggle with tiles and my friend has given up trying . Youview should either have given the option of tiles and lists or the option of downloading the update but " learn to live with them " is not all inclusive which is the supposed to be an aim of the shareholders
