***sigh*** the only good thing about the upgrade is that I will watch less TV as all the features that I used have gone :(Looks like it's time to get a different box - shame as I was very happy with it before. Like others I am completely baffled as to how such a bad 'upgrade' was signed off....

Not you, Bill, sorry if you thought that.

    That's why I specified Visionman :-(

As for the update, I am tempted to do another full reset of the box and see if it drags the update down. It didn't last time in fact it kept failing. Do you think it would push it through now?

The relevant YouView page, though never as reliably accurate as we would like it to be, says that the rollout to your device is still in progress:-

    https://support.youview.com/youview-b...

So I would not bother with a reset, though it may well be worth going into Settings from time to time and trying a manual Software Update; if the update has been rolled out to you by then, this will fetch it anything up to 24 hours before the automatic update would.

Hi Bill. Just to let you know, Stephen (YouView Techie) has stated that resetting the box pulls in an update no more than manually checking for an update in 'Settings'. So theres really no point in doing it.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

Thanks, saves me setting the box back up again.

    Cheers.

    This is quite amusing.
It seems that the TalkTalk forum's OCEs (moderators) have become fed up with the thread entitled "Latest YouView Box Software Update".
After 173 comments the thread has been locked.

    Hi All
This thread is more a discussion so will now be locked.
If anyone has an issue with their TV box they can post individual threads requesting assistance.
If your only issue is that you do not like the look and feel of the new software, this is provided by Youview to all their providers, and you can feed this back directly to them via the YouView forums.
    Thanks
    Karl.

Yeah, like it wasn't TalkTalk balls-out to get NextGen out there before it was remotely ready who started this whole clusterfail.

And now they are saying 'Go blame YouView'.

To which YouView might likely reply "Well, many thanks, partner"

Yes they do that on there. Don't like the new update? Don't post on here, tell them...
Its an annoying attitude to say the least...

Just one more reason to bin your Youview / TalkTalk box and TalkTalk along with it.
Censorship.  An appalling way to treat their customers.
