The Text channels will move to 250-259

The Service Alert on that page, the one you can Hide or Show, seems to have a 'here' link that loops back to the page you are on.

It would also be nice to know what, if anything, will change if we have any of the affected channels currently Hidden.

Will the Hidden status travel with them to their new number, or will they Unhide?

There currently seems to be an inconsistency in how Youview EPG. And the Youview. App handle channels 695-698.

Specifically today these channels currently appear in my Youview EPG but not on my Youview App.

I believe the intention of these channels slots is to provide a buffer in for the relocated Adult channels in the EPG.?

    Hi Roy,

The service ticker should pop up on any part of the Support site you are on so that users can get to that article easily.

If you previously set the channels as hidden before the Next Gen update, the ones which are due to change(as per the list in the original post) will become unhidden from the 2nd August when the Channel Update takes place. Please note that the adult channels will remain hidden if you have them set to hidden in your settings.

We understand Hide Channels is a function that is highly missed and rest assured this function is returning to your screens. We are in the early stage of trials and as soon as we have a confirmed launch date you will all be the first to know.

    Hi zulu17,

This is correct. These channels are there to act as a buffer between genres such as Adult channels and others.

I use the Youview app now and again to set recording when I'm not near the box or if I'm out and have forgot to set a recording. I also see the Youview app has not had a software update for a months now.

And this has what to do with the particular topic under discussion here?

Sorry zulu17, I seem to have missed your comment on the thread.

Recordings will not be affected with the channel changes and will record as normal on the newly allocated channel :)

The extra channel gives more clicks between different sections so for example, instead of going from radio straight to adult if you're scrolling through the channels in TV view, there is a buffer channel there to give a gap between the two.

And what a waste of time that will be. If someone is that determined to get to the adult section I doubt a few extra button presses will put them off.

Well, I bow to your superior knowledge of this area :-)

But the buffer is there for the opposite purpose - to guard against someone accidentally wandering in there while looking for BBC Radio 4 ....

It's still a waste of time. Most people who don't want them would remove them from the box. It's obviously still possible to remove the adult section from a youview box even if the rest can't be removed. The so called buffer is provided by digital UK not youview. Other providers such as sky have the adult section near the radio station with no buffer and people are not exactly complaining in massive numbers as sky would have moved it if they had. I just think there is a better way of doing things however this is what we have as they have decided to go with this. It certainly would not surprise me if by next retune day they change it to something else.

I hope you would agree that it is better next to radio than next the childrens' channels as now, though?

Hmm, I gave your posting a Like last night, Daniel, but just now it wouldn't show up for me.

So I tried again, in case I was mistaken in what I thought I did, but I couldn't add a Like, I just got a red bar at the top.

So I expected the NotSatisfactory software had recorded the Like, and so wouldn't let me repeat it, but for some reason wasn't letting me see it.

I was asking if you, or anybody else, could see a Like from me there.

EDIT: But then when I posted this, the Like suddenly reappeared.

    One for GetSat, I think.

The reshuffle has happened. If you retune you should get it now. 1 channel launch has happened. Quest plus 2 hasn't launched today even though a channel allocation was listed on the digital UK retune page. The sports channel was added with a graphic saying coming soon. All the old numbers are still present for the time been with a graphic advising of the changes. The old adult channels are now unhidden even if you have hidden them in parents control. They also have a graphic advising of the move. The relocated adult channels still hide.

The sports channel I am referring to is in the streamed channel section on 273. I'm not referring to free sports on channel 95 to be clear.

Thank you Sarah. That's what I came here to ask! My hide channels (yellow button) feature has/had gone. First I knew this morning - in fact I didn't know about the update until I turned my TV on about 50 minutes ago. Anyway pleased to know it's coming back although why it needed removing in the first place, I fail to understand seeing as how it worked just fine so hope it's back soon. Scrolling through loads of channels I'll never watch is frustrating to say the least but appreciate the information anyway.

It's happened to me a few times in the way you describe. I usually refresh the page and all is good. Maybe one for you to put on the get sat forum Roy.

I don't know if it is directly related to the Channel change day but today currently my Youview EPG guide is now missing Nick Junior 484 although my linked YouView app has the channel still listed

    Hi zulu17,

BT are currently looking into the issue regarding Nick Jr disappearing for viewer's EPGs. I'll update once we have more info on this :)

Congratulations you view you have now made a complete mess I now have all adult channels plus others that I had hidden  so if this is how it is to be for any length of time without the ability to hide this then the box can go in the bin along with BT subscription and I will stick to FREESAT at least when they have a change it works.

It's back. To restore the channel to your box either trigger a retune or reboot the equipment.

    Hi Owl,

Any newly allocated or new Adult channels should be automatically hidden if you have Adult channels set to be hidden in your settings. We are aware that the channel numbers which previously housed Adult channels have a slate stating what number the channel has moved to. If you have Adult content set to hidden and you manually input the new Adult channel location, you will receive a slate saying 'Adult Section - Content for viewers over 18s only', the Adult content will not be visible.

Edit channels is in Trials at the moment and we'll make a new post once it's all ready to go as we understand that this is a highly missed feature.

    Thanks
    Sarah

    Hi Daniel,

The launch of Quest+2 has been delayed so will not be launching today. We don't have any further information on why there's a delay or when it'll be launched but I'll try and keep you updated once I know when this will be :)
