Menu navigation becoming REALLY slow on Humax T1010/1TB - BT youview

I was taken by surprise when suddenly my humax menus all vanished and were replaced with BT stuff a while ago. However - most (but not all - eg hide channels) of the functionality seems to still be there so I stuck with it.

But now, navigating round the menus/options has got slow to the point of being unusable. When I select a recording it can take up to a minute for it to start playing and usually there is no sound. The only way I can get sound is by pausing and using the skip control over and over till it comes on.

When I stop a program there is, again, over a minute's wait while the menu sorts itself out and I can actually navigate it again.

Suggestions anyone? Be most grateful :)

Are you THE Marshal B Anderson? If so, cool. If not, cool username!

One simple thing that can kickstart any box into better health is a soft reset, just press and hold the standby button on the box itself until it restarts and then let it do its thing.

If that doesn't help then a more drastic reset may be required, YouView recommend Option 2 first:  https://support.youview.com/youview-box/box-and-remote/using-maintenance-mode

Let us know how you get on.

Looking at Marshals avatar, I believe it is. Ellie Gouldings got one too. Nice advice, btw.

If Maintenance Mode 2 does not cut it, then try Maintenance Mode 4. You may find the box will stand up better after that,

Red, do I do that with the box switched on or start with it off?

I am a Marshal B Anderson - not sure what I've done to be the Marshal B Anderson :)

Switched on at the mains, press and hold the standby button as I mentioned earlier.

If that doesn't work then step-by-step details are provided in the link I also posted.

That really helped, thanks Red. It's still a touch clunky and we'll see how it goes over the next few days, but it's good enough for me. Thanks again.
