Cannot Find the Broadband Connection - Then restored??

Hi all,

I am having a very regular issue with my 4K BTTV box. You can be watching any channel, Internet or Freeview, and also a recording and the following happens.

You'll get a message at the top of the screen saying the box cannot find the broadband connection, but then instantly the message changes to "Connection Restored" you get no loss in what you're watching, so I am convinced the connection doesn't actually drop, as if it did surely if I was watching an internet channel it would break up?

My Broadband is rock solid, 70mb speeds and I really can't remember the last time it went down.

Is there anything I can do? I have rebooted the box etc but it still happens. Can you just turn off the message at all?

Any help would be very gratefully received.

Thanks

Dave

Did the etc include the router and any PLAs you might have?

if not, try rebooting this/these as well.

No Roy, I shouldn't have put "etc" :) as all I have done is reboot the router and TV box...what's a PLA though?

PowerLine Adaptor - a pair of these let you extend the Ethernet connection to your box over the mains, when router and box are some way apart - in different rooms, for instance.

If you have these, they are worth power cycling as well, the one at the router end first, then the one at the YouView box end.

Well I have tried everything, but still this continues and it's really annoying me now! never happened before the last software update, so time for a call to BT to be talked through a load of pointless steps I have already done :(

Will push for a new box as I am convinced it's that as my Broadband is rock solid!

Not just you, it's a software issue on the box.

Had this with a previous "update", which, when the next update installed, seemed to cure it.

Instead, I now have functionality issues and an erroneous splash about weak or no arial signal in it's place.

See my response to your other post.

There are too many problems with your particular box, not shared by other YouView users, for this to be much other than fscked hardware.
