Can someone confirm if 'watch list' and/or Discover can include Netflix/Milkshake/UKTV programmes. I presume not and I can see how IP channels also with on demand access say via the BT Player (and hence BT software) could complicate this.
Why do I fear a long wait (if ever) for this on BT boxes

Hi Scott,
You cannot add content directly from any of the Players to your Watch List (including Netflix). Attempting to do this will prompt a message "You Can't currently add On Demand programmes from withing the Players you find in Players & Apps.".

Yes Sarah but it also says programmes can be added to the watch list from programme search. So if I search for a programme I know is on Netflix I wondered if that could work.
What about the other players outside the main PSB's.
Also do I understand that Discover will now only show catch-up content, not things coming up on normal tv like the app does. I presume the film section that is the first on the App will be sadly lacking if dependant on PSB catch-up players.
Finally!!! I'm delighted it's came back as I've been missing it since before the update...There is one thing I want to ask, im a BT broadband customer but dont have BT TV pack included. So i had to hide these BT channels off the tv guide. Its showing up on 'discover' ...how to remove them from there too? Thanks guys if you can assist me with this?

You can’t alas, though they are clearly shown as ‘Subscription’ and not ‘Free’ as broadcast programmes are.
I expect, or at least hope, that such programmes will become hidden when we get the full ‘Hide Channels’ feature at some point in the future.
I also hope that when Retail and BT diverge, the BT channels won’t even come up on Retail boxes as they do now, just because our ISP is BT, though this may be a fonder hope.

I know @Robert has already answered this particular question, but I commend to you clicking/tapping on the link in Phil’s original posting, where you will likely find the answers to other questions you may have about the release.

Supposing like me, you own a BT branded YouView box, but you're not a BT customer. Since they're basically the same hardware as retail (right?), is there any way of tricking the box in to believing its a retail box? I guess not, but I thought I'd ask out of curiosity

Once a BT box, always a BT box, but only for the purposes of receiving updates, and it has a hardware ID that says it's a BT box, so no way of tricking it. Likewise TalkTalk boxes.
But, at the moment at least, all boxes respond to the ISP you are using them on, interchangeably, so you can use a retail box on BT TV, and a BT box as a retail one on other ISPs.
Except that, annoyingly, a box on BT or TalkTalk broadband will take on the persona of a BT or TalkTalk box which just happens to be unsubscribed to the ISP's TV service. No matter what the provenance of the box.
So my retail T2000 on BT shows the BT Player, and the BT channels, in the EPG, in Discover, etc., but of course I can't access them unless I subscribe. Which I have scant intention of doing.

I've just realised this includes initial steps towards returning the action panel.
@Sarah the release notes say "...you will now be able to perform a number of actions such as Watch Live in TV, Set Reminder and Add to MyTV..."
Is that the full list of actions available? ("such as" implies that there are more)
Giving this a try now on various programmes I have so far only been presented with 3 actions:
watch live
watch live in HD
set reminder
I do not get a 'add to MyTV' action. To add items to the watchlist in MyTV I have to press record on a suitable item in the backwards epg that has the on-demand symbol.
@jimb@Keith Taken from here https://support.youview.com/youview-box/software-updates/humax-software-update-29-44-10 "A new Watch List area can be found in MyTV on the main menu. Create your own catch-up library with Watch List ready to access whenever you want. When you see a show you want to save for later simply press the record button to add it to your list. You can add shows from the Guide, the Miniguide, Search and even the new Discover section".
I didn't realise the watch in HD selection was back, I don't suppose the record in HD is there also. If you press 'i' in the mini guide for say BBC1 do you get the option to watch that programme in HD and hence take you straight to 101.
The following actions are currently available in the new Action Panel:
Watch Live
Watch Live in HD
Watch On Demand
Set Reminder
Set-Up Channel
More Episodes (for on-demand content)
Add to MyTV
Actions will vary based on the availability of the programme.
Hope that helps! Sarah
@Sarah that's really good. I'm really surprised that the return of the Action Panel wasn't given the same prominence as Discover in the announcement.
I can't remember all the actions in the old Action Panel but I'm pretty sure there was "Watch Recording" which is quite important - perhaps you could feed that back.
Hi @Sarah maybe I'm being stupid but can you please explain what this means: "We have reduced the time it takes for the playback bar to timeout on a programme when tuning channels so you can get back to TV viewing."

"We have reduced the time it takes for the playback bar to timeout on a programme when tuningchanging channels so you can get back to TV viewing."
Therefore when you change to a different channel the playbar and fog goes faster (it goes even faster if you press back ). Although I don't have the update so can't prove it, I am sure someone will agree/correct me
29.27.0 included this: "When changing channels the playback bar will timeout quicker so you can carry on watching your programme." That was a BT release, perhaps this hadn't already been released for the T2000.
They are: Most Popular, Just added, Last chance, Top TV Series, Entertainment & Reality, Drama, Comedy, Films, Factual, Lifestyle, Sport, Children's, Music, TV & Films Audio Described & TV & Films Signed. I didn't use Discover before but I like the new one, easy to add items to watch later. I can't tell if the Playback bar disappears more quickly, it still seems too long IMHO. Action panel is missing 'Set recording' which is a big oversight in my view, means you have to go back to the guide to set the recording yet you can set a Reminder

Agree, but as Sarah has said, this is the first version of it, with further improvements to be made.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

I'll feed this back although I think it is something they're looking at including for the Action Panel in the future

Could someone who has this software please spare a moment to tell us what the 15 categories are?
