Software Updates on a DTR-T2100 without BT TV subscription

I have a DTR-T2100, but no BT TV Subscription. I've noticed that the software version is 29.58 (Component is 3.3.152), which is behind that for this model. Forcing an update  states that the version is up to date and trying to update the Apps/Players gives the error message that the Apps cannot be updated.

My question is: Is this expected behaviour for a BT Youview box that is not on a BT subscription?

I am a BT Broadband customer and the box is connected to the internet.

Your just going to have wait for the update like everyone else as having a BT subscription (or not) is irrelevant.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

The information that the upgrade is from 31.24.0 is erroneous in all those cases where 31.24.0 was pulled in favour of 31.28.0 before the box in question, on 29.58.0, had had a chance to get 31.24.0

    Hi @TheWaltonMystic

    Welcome to the forum :)

I can confirm that any boxes which did not receive the 31.24.0 update from 28.58.0 will start receiving the 31.28.0 update in the next week instead. The 31.24.0 update was paused part way through to make way for 31.28.0 which includes a fix for a failed recordings issue which we wanted to get out to users as soon as it was ready.

Everything that was in the 31.24.0 update will also be found in the 31.28.0 update once it arrives on your box :)

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Any idea when DTR-T2110, i.e BT Retail boxes will get the 31.28.0 update?
it is now over 1 week since you mentioned

"will start receiving the 31.28.0 update in the next week instead"
is that only for non-retail BT boxes with or without a subscription?

The failed recording issue is becoming frustrating as it is random and there is no control over the failure.

    Thanks

    Steve

    Yes, just for BT non-retail boxes T2100, T2200, T4000.

    Hi @sgjview

The boxes I was referring to were the non-retail ones in this case as the roll-out of 31.24.0 was put on hold and replaced with 31.28.0 which is currently rolling out to these boxes. The retail units usually receive the same update once the rollouts to the non-retail units are complete however as 31.24.0 never completed for non-retail, the retail units are still on 29.58.0 instead.

I'll update here and on the software table once this update is available for the BT retail boxes as well.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your reply, to save possibly others raising the same question Is there any indication of when the update to retail boxes is likely to start approximately e.g 1 week 2 weeks...?
    Thank you

    Hi @sgjview
I'm not able to give any more information regarding set dates or timings due to the nature of these phased roll-outs. The rollouts are phased largely to monitor the release and ensure that there are no unexpected issues along the way before it goes out to more people. It's unlikely there will be any issues however if anything does crop up or there's something we want to investigate, it can cause the rollout to take longer to release to all users. Due to this, we are not able to give an approximate time on when certain releases will be complete and others will start.
As before, once we have some information to share, we'll let everyone here know :)
    Thanks,
    Sarah
