    Im not sure what the changes were, but Sony are still on Gen1. When will they adopt next Gen?

    This update contains performance updates for the 2016/2017 Sony TV models. Details of this can be found here. We don't currently have plans for the Sony TVs to swap to next gen software and UI.

    After the update I am not able to cast youtube from my smartphone anymore also the smart view not working .. any recommend?

    Under Compatible Devices on the link, it says ‘This update is available for Sony Android TV's from the 2016/ 2017 model range’.

    Everywhere else, it includes 2018 sets also.

    My TV (KD-55A1) was updated within two weeks ago and since that the tv gets minor updates almost daily. In this period of time I have experienced my wifi going into very deep sleep-mode where I am unable to see the google cast icon in my streaming apps (e.g. Netflix, hbo, etc.)  without the tv is turned on. When I turn on the tv I have to wait up to two minutes before the network has settled in and the icon appears. The google cast has become really unstable. The streaming stops or freezes periodically. During this period I have also seen some updates who fixed the problem until the next day when a new update was forced and installed. This is driving me crazy since it seems like these updates haven`t been sufficiently tested and as a result betas is forced upon users. Sorry, but I am really frustrated. It must be possible to create an update which keeps the power turned on for the networking adapter

    The YouView part of the Sony TV provides a selection of players, the YouView guide and Live TV. We would recommend that you reach out to Sony as the internet connections and Google casting are areas they manage. Sony make the software releases for their TVs rather than us so we would suggest contacting them with these issues instead as they will be able to assist you further.
