BT Humax DTR-T2100 Restart recording does not work

Following on from this thread;

I was wondering if any other users have had issues similar to mine?

In summary, restart recording bombs out (fails to countdown). Have got a new remote and have both rebuilt the software (from service menu) options 2 and 4.

All software is updated and I am on Plusnet. Two Huawei boxes work fine.

So basically I guess I am looking for feedback from DTR-T2100 users on Plusnet?

A general question just asked on the other thread I will ask here too.

If I exchange the hard drive for a blank, can I put the old hard drive back without detriment? Anyone have experience?

    I know this may sound patronising, but have you tried new batteries?
    I have this same issue whenever my batteries are running low and it helps to use proper batteries rather than rechargables.

    I have changed hard drives too and been able to go back to the old one without issue.
    If you are trying to put a larger one in, i have found the box will only ever see the original size, so 500gb for the 2100, and may not even function at all with a larger one.

    It's not patronising, but it's not the answer! I use Duracell and the new remote came without so it got the benefit of new batteries. I swapped them over just to see if there was any issue with the old remote. In all cases, the problem remains.

    Good news about the hard drive. I have several 500GB drives that will be suitable, so I will try one at the earliest opportunity. Thanks for the clarification.

    This is now working correctly with no adjustments made. Never found time to disconnect and install another drive.

    I am baffled as to why this would be the case.

    Its been a little temperamental of late, but not for everyone. Its apparently a BBC problem, not the box.
    I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.
