Wired connection is great if your box and router are neighbour's but there's a mass market that shun youview boxes because of the logistics of connectivity.
I know it mightn't work for everyone but my T4000, and my T2100 before it, have had zero issues connected via PLA.

Am I missing something (not for the first time) but what's happening Monday?

Another new YouView feature, apparently. So nothing you'd be interested in. Its rubbish remember?

Personally though, I don't have any knowledge of a release date.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

Of course you cant beat a wired connection, my point was and still is that for some it isn't feasible.
Wilf, are not Netflix and Prime, pay TV providers?
They are however they use RTSP rather than IGMP multicast. RTSP is more robust than multicast but requires much more in terms of backend power and admin to work and isn’t suitable for large scale broadcast of live services. Although amazon and Netflix do some
live services the numbers are small by comparison and cost much more as they need to pay for the back-end server delivery systems to cope with large numbers. IGMP does not on the other hand require specialist hardware as it’s baked in to pretty much all network infrastructure.

So, YouView has introduced Voice Control for those with or want to hook up an Echo Dot.

    Thoughts after its release?
I dont think so, but I can see why others would go for Alexa etc. A useful addition though for fans of the tech, although from the previous post it would seem it's extremely limited on Youview compared to other devices that utilize this functionality.

    Thanks,
    Alana
