I emailed BritBox for you and this is the reply I got:-

    Good morning John,

Thank you for your interest in Britbox!

We are currently planning to release Britbox on YouView, however this is planned to be released after the official launch of Britbox. Fortunately at the moment you can still access BritBox in many other ways. This can be via a web browser on the internet from a PC, Mac or smart TV. You can also view Britbox via apps from:
    - Samsung TV (from 2017 models onward),
    - Apple TV
    - iPhone, iPad (Apple App Store)
    - Android devices (Google Play Store)

If you have more questions or need further help, check our Frequently Asked Questions at britbox.co.uk/help or drop us a line.

    Best wishes,
    Kyle Evans
    The BritBox Team

    Hope this helps
    John

    And just before everyone asks:-

    Hi John,

Thanks for getting back in touch!

We are unable to confirm a date for our official launch. I can confirm that you will see more and more advertisements for Britbox over the coming weeks and our official release is planned within the month.

If you have more questions or need further help, check our Frequently Asked Questions at britbox.co.uk/help or drop us a line.

    Best wishes,

They are hoping for an official launch in December and then YouView around the same time, which means shortly after. Britbox has just come out of general Beta testing and new content is now being added daily. So it shouldn't be too long.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

Well it's a shame that the BritBox help team were so terse with me!

The golden age, when you could afford all the streaming services you reasonably wanted, is coming to an end....

So Youview possibly a month after launch, which was today, not December, or is it due any day soon? Someone clearly passing duff info onto you my good man :/

It's going to be censored. No Till Death Us Do Part or It Ain’t Half Hot Mum :'(.

Hardly censored. For those who want racist content I am sure they can easily obtain it elsewhere.

censored:  suppressed, altered or deleted as objectionable.
I have some thoughts on this @redchiz, but this isn't the place for me to air them.
My apologies to @Ken Hill1 for going off his topic.

@jonesh None of that applies here though, simply a matter of compliance with Ofcom standards. So accuse Ofcom of censorship if you like, but not the content providers. Short of campaigning in favour of snuff flicks, horror porn, take your pick being available on regulated platforms ....

A few of us had been wondering about the above in todays 'modern' PC world where offence may not even be implied, never mind spoken. They went way beyond the bounds of todays OFCOM standards of decency. Personally I was also wondering if the likes of Rising Damp and Love Thy Neighbour would make it past OFCOM as well and see that LTN hasn't.

Pleased to see that the Farty Trowles episode featuring 'the Germans' has made it but at the end of the day that entire episode was just designed to show what a bigoted prat Basil was.

PC gets in everywhere. In The Snowman, an inebriated passenger on an ocean liner sees the Snowman and the boy flying by, looks at his drink - and used to toss it overboard. But in these environmentally woke times, not any more.

The Snowman is still twoccing the dad’s motorbike and driving without insurance, though - but for how much longer?  :p

Typical! Comedy gold of old not getting a rerun in case it offends someone from the generation who goes out of its' way to be offended, and who can't accept humour for what it is :(I despair.

I loved Love Thy Neighbour and thankfully have the entire collection on dvd. The irony of LTN being it was always the white guy who came off worse.

    And no doubt there is.

But what planet are you on, hoping that YouView will pre-divulge confidential and sensitive commercial information to all and sundry?  :p

No date has been given for Britbox's launch. But just as with Now TV, its the provider, not YouView, that will decide the date.
