The £10 bundle giving you the ability to record Sky Atlantic seems fair. The others more or less mirror Sky packages. Sadly though full Now will not be coming to retail ☹

Still leaves a lot of questions at the minute about pricing but at least we have a date and some details. I can't work out if the entertainment is a new BTTV package or just an add on to its existing packages (what about all the UKTV channels and duplicate extra/entertainment channels, any of the kids channels, what about the HD bolt on).

I presume these are all just add on's and sort of tie up with the standard NowTV pass prices but I can't understand why the BT Sport package should be mentioned as that is not new, that already exists and is nothing to do with the new NowTV offering other then the big sports and VIP where they are merged in with passes to give a discount (very much like SKY do with their offereings).

Sky have done brilliantly out of this deal. Now in a position to offer nearly every live prem game and the UCL on its sports offerings.
    Memo to BT
If you want to entice a BT broadband and ex BT tv customer then I'm open to offers 🤫

Couldn't agree more only briefly looked but is 24 month contract correct as well ?

Well they keep highlighting the word "flexible " offering 30 day bolt one's so no would be the answer.

I take it the 24 month contract refers to the broadband then.

This seems to suggest there will be a Now TV app update with the full shabang...

Yes I think we all knew (and some saw :)) this. The question I think was whether this full app would be available to all or just BT subscribers.

Yes, the whole ethos of now tv is no long term subscription.

I’m assuming you just log into the now app and any passes you have should be live
  • kodikidkodikid Member Posts: 1,106 ✭✭
If you have BT broadband. Anyone that wants a Now package though BT must sign up for a 2 year broadband deal.

If you don’t want through BT I assume you just log into the now app which if I’m right in thinking will be updated to include entertainment box sets and movies or have I misunderstood??
  • kodikidkodikid Member Posts: 1,106 ✭✭
Basically no BT broadband for 2 years then no Full Now tv.
You'll have to be content with just the movies through your box and supplement it with a Now stick.

It’s all very confusing to me

I think the confusion arises that they are using the name youview, which it is but its aligned to and only accessible if your signed up for BT broadband.  Sadly if anyone thinks Full Now will suddenly manifest on their retail machine will be waiting a very long time.. it simply is not going to happen..just like you can no longer use the remote app unless though BT tv the same applies to Full Now tv. It is painfully simple no BT tv with broadband, no Full Now tv on your youview box ☹

Every new package apparently comes with a 4K box, even the entry level £10 package. Must admit I am tempted 🤔

A mate of mine has told me he spoke to BT today about a deal if he recontracted his tv and was told by the operator that the now tv app will be updated on Friday and anyone with an active now tv pass through now tv or adding to BT tv will be able to access the new app.
Dont know if there is any truth in this or not..??????
Anyone from youview able to confirm???
  • kodikidkodikid Member Posts: 1,106 ✭✭
The deal or tie up is between BT and Sky. Really can't envisage your bog standard box bought on the high st having access.
Don't get me wrong if on Friday morning I switch on my box and entertainment, sports etc all are there I for one would be ecstatic...but honestly do you really expect that to happen given the information that's been flowing today?

Its a hard one to figure out since the now tv web site stating they are in the progress off rolling out entertainment passes etc to youview
I’m hoping it happens if not Friday then soon

When they say youview their referring to BT tv youview...not retail.
Retail dont have a record app or access to full Now tv☹. There both lurking behind a pay wall.

Currently have BT Fibre and Phone

If you add VIP what TV Box do you get ?

Can you downgrade to lower package at any point ?

Can you record and series link all Sky Channels ?

Can you watch the BT Sports Channels on the BT Sport app as part of sub ?

Can you watch the Sky Sports channels on other Now TV devices at same time as watching on BT TV box ?

If I'm reading right the VIP includes all the Sky Channels in HD and BT Sport HD and 4K ?

    A T2100

Can you downgrade to lower package at any point ?
Yes, on a month to month basis.

Can you record and series link all Sky Channels ?
    Yes.

Can you watch the BT Sports Channels on the BT Sport app as part of sub ?
    Yes.

Can you watch the Sky Sports channels on other Now TV devices at same time as watching on BT TV box ?
    Unknown.

If I'm reading right the VIP includes all the Sky Channels in HD and BT Sport HD and 4K ?
No. VIP includes all the Sky Channels in HD and BT Sport HD. For 4K you would need a YouView 4K box, the T4000. You would need to enquire about that at point of sign up.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.
