All 4 Player HD content

I notice that the All 4 app on some devices now offers some HD content.
I wonder whether this improved content quality will be available on the Youview All 4 Player  ?

    Hi @zulu17

Which device supports HD and how does one know it is?

    Hi Zulu17,
My TV apps, Freesat, Youview are all currently in SD from the All4 app.
Maybe it is only broadcast in HD on the smartphones, but easier and cheaper to support in HD on a smaller scale display screen? Can you stream  or download, then watch back to your TV using the Cast function from your iPad?
Might be the solution until they improve the HD service? John L
Can't wait for the day when Youview get rid of the dreaded darkened banner when using fast forward/rewind recordings.

a few months on now since All 4 started providing HD content on some devices. Is there any indication of it coming to Youview All4 Player ?

Such as Youview announcing that it will be supported?.. It's 2020 and HD content should be readily available on a smart TV where the difference between 720p and 1080p is very noticible.

Best talk to Channel 4. It’s their app.
Supporting YouView on Sony TVs is like nailing jelly to a herd of cats
