Film unable to be playef

Went to watch one of my favourite films I have stored on my you view box and it said it couldn't play it as the channel it was recorded from no longer exists (or words to that effect)

What's going on with that. Why couldnt it be played when it is saved on the box?

    Its a licencing thing. If this was recorded from a boost, sky channel, and you remove the boost, all recordings become locked and cannot be played.

    If not a boost, which channel did you record from?

    Sorry, too annoyed/disappointed to get the details before I deleted it.
    Makes a mockery of using the box to store stuff as there was no warning that it would go.

    @SteamyDave

    Have you had, and cancelled, a NowTV, BT TV, TalkTalk Boost, or other YouView-associated subscription of any kind?

    What was the movie called? We can probably track down where you recorded it from. It would be worrying if it came from a Freeview channel.
    These tests for COVID-19 might get right up my nose, if only I could get one
