No Place In The Sun

For the past few days, Channel Four have not been putting the 15:00 broadcast of A Place In the Sun on catch-up at all, not even putting it there late.

As can be seen by going into the All4 app and looking for it; the All4 app on YouView and the one on our Samsung TV both agree it’s not being offered.

But YouView blithely continues to offer it, both on Channel4 and C4+1, resulting in :-
Well this is embarrassing
Something’s not working, please try again in a few minutes.

Needless to say, trying again in a few minutes is pointless; yesterday’s isn’t available even after 24 hours.

Who’s got this wrong, YouView or Channel 4?

Todays episode  (Thu 6/062019:Santa Eularia,Ibiza) is available on my iPad  All4 app.

Also Wednesday episode (Tue25/06/2019 Dordogne,France) is on the iPad All4

And they are likewise available on All4 on our Samsung TV, which has an ‘All Episodes’ option, where you can scroll down day by day to them. (They aren’t shown here, but scrolling down will reach them),



But All4 in the YouView Apps does not give this option, and only gives a subset of the past programmes available, and this does not include the episodes in question here.

This is most unsatisfactory.

We only have five out at the moment, but there are a couple more in the loft, including a Philippe Starck CRT one that we are keeping until it becomes an immensely valuable collector’s item. 

We haven’t got one in the garden room because the spare TV isn’t Smart, and you can’t send a TV aerial signal over PLAs - bit of an omission that.

No service in the houses of easement, but we have iPads.

Hi @Roy,
Channel 4 have fixed this issue now so the episodes should link into the app correctly and they should also be discoverable via search as well

Thanks - we noticed yesterday that it came back. 

With the discrepant lists  synchronised as well.

I said to Marie “Ooh, I did that! (sort of)”

A tangible benefit of what she amusedly calls my “doing YouView” 😛
