My YouView box will not turn on without a reboot. This only happens every other day or so and I have checked the remote and all connections. Any ideas as to what the problem could be please! The box is just over 3 years old.
Start with Option 2, a local refresh that preserves your recordings Option 4 refreshes from YouView’s servers, but still preserves your recordings
If these still don’t work, the nuclear option is Option 5, same as Factory Reset in Settings, which wipes the box back to ‘just delivered’ state, though still on the latest software.
If that still doesn’t work, the only remaining option would be to replace the hard disc, but that would only cure certain issues which it doesn’t sound (yet?) like you are having.
What make and model of box have you got? It’s not worth trying to rescue an old DTR-T10x0 or DN370T, though all of these are over 3 years old.
Is it possibly on subscription, if your ISP is BT, Plusnet or TalkTalk?

A real reboot, or just a power cycle?
For a real reboot, touch/press the On/Standby button for just over 8 seconds.
