BT software update 32.51.0 / 3.7.42

Hi all,
Please use this thread to discuss the most recent BT software update 32.51.0 / 3.7.42 for T2xxx & T4000 devices.
This update contains the addition of the Sports Area in the Main Menu for T22xx devices and a bug fix for an issue where it wasn’t possible to delete cancelled scheduled recordings from MyTV.
Please note that this is a phased release so not all boxes will receive it at the same time.
Thanks,
Sarah

Tried a factory reset but get message "Sorry, selected option failed".
This update is not available to T2110 boxes yet, they receive the update at the end of the rollout along with other BT retail and plusnet boxes. Had your boxes been disconnected from the internet prior to this happening? Are you able to get onto the box itself or is it still stuck in a boot loop?
Thanks,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the quick response. Both boxes have been connected to the Internet and were working with catch-up in the last 24 hours iPlayer/ITV player/Prime etc.
Both boxes are stuck in the BT UKTFAA 0.05 boot screen followed by the YouView loading stage at the end of which both go back to the BT UKTFAA 0.05 boot screen. Normally at the end of the YouView loading stage the box displays a TV channel but it never gets this far.
I have tried the Software/Internet (saving recordings)/ Factory reset (saving recordings) and even Factory Reset (removing recordings) and all give me a “Sorry, selected option failed” response.
I have two boxes that are both unable to even give me basic TV so any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
Just to give you a bit more background information.
One of the DTR-T2110 boxes is our main viewing box and we have had it for a couple of years with virtually no problems apart from having to do the occasional reset/power down/up.
Yesterday evening when trying to access iPlayer, the unit froze and would not even respond to the power off from the remote control. I switched it off and back on and from that point on it has permanently been in the boot->Youview load -> boot cycle.
We had bought another DTR-T2110 for my in-laws when their YouView recorded unit appeared to have problems but they did not need it in the end. I therefore replaced our first unit with this unit. When starting up, as it had not been connected for a while, it did on on-screen updated which worked. I do not know what software it updated to. This unit powered up fine and I went in and set up my account details for iPlayer, ITV player etc. About an hour later on we went to access iPlayer on this box and it froze. I switched the unit off and since then it has been in this boot->Youview load -> boot cycle and also will not recover using the maintenance mode.
Thanks for this added information. Unfortunately if the box is stuck in a boot loop and won't respond to factory resets, it usually means that the box has died. You can keep trying the factory resets on the box in case it manages to get through one of them however if it can't get past these then there's not really anything else we can suggest I'm afraid.
Thanks,
Sarah
It seems to me that the chances of two identical units failing at the same time is very remote (although admittedly not impossible), and one thing you might try is rebooting your router and seeing if that helps.
And another, if you are in the requisite bubble, is taking these machines to your in-laws, and trying them there.
And @Sarah, as I have been asking ever since 2012, only to have it fall on seemingly deaf ears each time, can I please ask once again if YouView boxes could please display the date they last received an update, rather than (or as well as, perhaps) the much less valuable display of the last time they checked for an update?
Has anyone else experienced this problem since the update ?
Welcome to the forum. If you are paying for a subscription contract with BT, I would have a very good moan at BT, as you are paying good money for their service. I'm sure they would love to help you resolve your problem. Have a look on the BT forum to see if anyone else has reported error. John L
Had my DTR-T2100 500Gb for a few years now. Worked flawlessly until 2 days ago.
Everything user BTT2110User described has happened to me too.
At first I thought since the HD wasn't making any noise, it had finally failed so I ordered a replacement.
Having read this now, I am loathed to install the new HD in case it bricks that one too.
No way this is a mere coincide. I am convinced this is due to the update.
What have you done to look into this issue?
Model: DTRT2110
Component Software: 3.7.42 (418ce6)
Software: 32.51.0
Config: 4747 (4a0ea140)
The latest software update has really messed up my box and cannot resolve.
I lost freeview HD channels, pixelated all BBC channels, pixelated a number of other freeview channels.
Tried a factory reset from setting to get a clean update, still problems. Retuned several times, lost channels, and still problems !
I know the problems are associated with the BT box as when I disconnect the aerial from the box and connect direct to the TV, I have no picture problems.
Youview owe me a new box, as until this latest update all was fine !
Youview are responsible for the software update, out of my control, so should resolve.
