    Or buy one from e Bay, official ones not that expensive.

    Can you please describe the circumstances in which you are trying to use the Guide button, on what model of YouView device, and what happens?

    Is it broken? If not then...
     tv on
    Press Guide 
    Move cursor up or down to select 
    Press ok.
    I'm guessing because it's way beyond a simple operation yours might be faulty,  if so my original response stands.
