Looks like GB news has brought its launch date forward to the 28th with GB morning from the 28th at 6 a.m.

Their clock seems to be 10 seconds out.
The sound is slightly out of sync with the picture.
Not very good!

Slight technical sound problems: microphones not set at correct levels between guests and the presenter + too much echo around voices, maybe studio acoustics? Plus sometimes camera not focused correctly in sharp focus with people's faces. Maybe I see more detail in HD? Also the adverts sometimes cut straight through programme before end of conversation. Andrew Neil, did say there may be errors on first broadcast. Hopefully it will be fixed. Be interested to hear what others think. John L
The picture I get in HD overall is excellent, but on some studio closeups, the presenter's faces are slightly grainy? The actual overall picture, including bottom of screen rolling banners are all perfect on my Tv, very sharp in focus. In SD, the picture is certainly inferior, same picture quality as Sky news SD. I think they have improved some of sound issues with microphones. You would have thought they would have practiced & tested this before live transmission. John L
@al dont know how you think the SD picture quality is the same as Sky News SD for I think its a little worse than Sky News SD.
Sound is ok but not as good as other SD channels on Freeview.
Cant see me watching the channel much unless it improves.
Think I maybe sticking to BBC News and Sky News HD and may only every now and again tune in to GB News.
It was there in the EPG but the channel showed SS & SQ = 0. So I had to run a scan which I'm surprised I needed to do.
It also offered the Preferred region of a very low level signal at higher frequencies and further down the alphabet. I guess it's ordered by ID which makes no sense.
Overall sound level about 12dB lower than the other news channels.
Lots of technical errors in the studio presentation.
Has anyone watched this channel long enough to figure out how many minutes in each hour are adverts? They seem to happen very frequently.
Apart from Andrew Neil most of the other presenters/reporters are pretty unimpressive (IMO).
I wonder if it will survive...

After ads for Ikea were shown earlier in the week, the Swedish company insisted that they had “not knowingly” advertised with GB News.
Also dose the channel do any weather forecasts.
I still seem to prefer BBC News and at times Sky News.
Well, I have been watching the channel most of the week.
I sincerely hope the channel grows from day to day. It looks like it is going to prove a great success. Nice to have a news channel that is not strongly biased for a change. I’m impressed so far. I have watched it on HD (Freesat) and also on SD (Youview) HD is well worth watching if you are able to.
Yes I agree, loads of technical problems. I think the sound levels have gradually improved during the week. Maybe the main problems are line levels with outside broadcast tv units to the studio/you can sometimes hear the studio sound along with outside sound feed & also when they have a changeover, the presenters haven’t had their microphones set up correctly? Either too low or sound affect in studio is not correct? Since Wednesday, I noticed that they no longer seem to have a “handover” 5 minute chat between current & replacement presenters. Perhaps this was causing some technical sound problems?
This is my own personal view: On a positive, my favourites so far are: Colin brazier’s show + also Simon McCoy’s show are excellent. A refreshing change to news. As for Andrew Neil, not really my cup of tea. I find him so serious & boring. But that’s only my opinion. It’s great watching it in full HD on Freesat, but as for Youview/Freeview only SD picture. The HD picture is very high resolution, but occasionally the presenter's faces are slightly saturated. Hopefully if channel becomes more successful they will upgrade to a HD channel on all Tv equipment.
As for adverts, I actually don't mind. I think the adverts come on approx. every 10 minutes. (You need something to fill the programme up with - only joking!) Love the theme tune (when's it being released?) Some of the adverts are fun to watch. But again, this is my opinion. Normally I don't like watching adverts!

In this country tv news is bound by strict impartiality law.
What law is that, then?

320 Special impartiality requirements
(1)The requirements of this section are—
(a)the exclusion, in the case of television and radio services (other than a restricted service within the meaning of section 245), from programmes included in any of those services of all expressions of the views or opinions of the person providing the service on any of the matters mentioned in subsection (2);
(b)the preservation, in the case of every television programme service, teletext service, national radio service and national digital sound programme service, of due impartiality, on the part of the person providing the service, as respects all of those matters;
(c)the prevention, in the case of every local radio service, local digital sound programme service or radio licensable content service, of the giving of undue prominence in the programmes included in the service to the views and opinions of particular persons or bodies on any of those matters.
(2)Those matters are—
(a)matters of political or industrial controversy; and
(b)matters relating to current public policy.
Somebody should tell the presenter of Dewbs & Co then, who yesterday expressed her opinion on assisted dying, and on the repatriation of Shamima Begum, after a carefully balanced presentation of pro and con arguments by outside commentators.
And more I think, on the merits of the pro and con cases being argued, than any prior position she might have taken; I found that quite refreshing.
Though we must consider if a presenter is ‘the person providing the service’ or if the backers of GB News are; and whether impartiality is something that GB news will strive for over a series of programmes rather than in every individual programme, as is provided for in the Act.

Maybe this is the real reason advertisers are jumping ship.
My main news is still BBC News followed by Sky News.

Apart from the amateur dynamics really don't understand why they launched in the news silly season (summer) with probably the greatest concentration of major sporting tournaments on TV.
