I have exactly the same problem on my Sony Bravia Android TV since the STV player has been loaded. The only way I can get it to work is to turn the TV off at the wall for a few seconds and then restart. The player will then work until the TV is turned off. The error message says we are not connected to the network although we are and all other players on Youview function correctly.

4.11.2[YV] - STV app version (if you're able to get into the app to check)
All other apps work perfectly - you are able to use other apps through YouView on the TV

The NW-1 errors usually point to a network issue with the device rather than the app itself. We'd suggest factory resetting your TV as this can sometimes fix odd issues that pop up like this one you're experiencing.

We can't be sure whether it's an issue with the TV or with the app. Unfortunately, STV don't tend to take further action with NW-1 errors as the issue usually points to an issue with the user's network rather than an issue with the app.
We've suggested a factory reset as this can wipe away any strange bugs or issues an app is having if it thinks it's not connected to a network when it is. You can try resetting your router as well before doing this just in case but if that doesn't work, we would recommend the factory reset and make a note of your changed settings and logins before doing this. IHi Roy I can watch catch up tv but no STV programmes are on the you view catch up I am based in Scotland I have got the itv x app previously I had itv hub and STV would be in the catch up programmes. the play store on the Google Sony Bravia does not have STV player app on it my tv is a Sony Bravia model KD 43X81J I can’t seem to be able to get it on Sony select .please can you help Thanks

Are you based in Scotland?
Have you suddenly got the itvX app where you didn’t have any itv app before, or maybe just the itv Hub?
Can you reload the STV app from the Google TV Play Store, or (depending on how recent your TV is) from Sony Select?
I am based in Scotland I have got the itv x app previously I had itv hub and STV would be in the catch up programmes.
the play store on the Google Sony Bravia does not have STV player app on it my tv is a Sony Bravia model KD 43X81J I can’t seem to be able to get it on Sony select .please can you help
