Hi, I am sorry to have to say the once loved Youview is looking very tired and unloved, the tv guide poor, not mini TV in the corner like Freesat have very dark and bleak looking guide, TalkTalk boxes advertising stuff not available, no longer can get retail boxes, the website has mistakes and logos and still says demand 5 when it is now my 5.   Is this box coming to an end as no updates and the good services seem to be going like the remote record in 2020, the interface looks bland and unappealing and has not been updated in years.   What is the future of the brand YouView with TalkTalk advertiing netgem which looks poor, and no mention of YouView currently and marketing is no existant these days.   What is going wrong YouView.

Largely repetitious, but on a point of fact, anyone can now use the BT TV app to remote record, not just BT customers.

I must agree with Honest1 that it is tired the website, makes no sense sense for TalkTalk to use BT app as BT has a different lineup of TV channels.

I must be getting old because I find the BT app used as both a planner and remote record very easy to use and I'm pleased to have it.  It's perfect for the Pro and if it ain't broken why fix it. I also find this web site perfectly adequate.

I must agree with Honest1 that the Youview website needs an overhaul and make it relevant to Todays TV, the site has not been updated in years.  I agree with the others the BT app is good but not made for TalkTalk or retail boxes as it highlights all the BT channels you can get that retail and TalkTalk can't.   It's a bit cluttered but once you know how to use it it works well with the BT app. But odd TalkTalk using BT app.

Who spookily  (or stupidly) both have upper case letters and use numbers in their youview name.

    There’s no ‘or’ in it.

You do realise that these two are the same troll, and the only way he can get anyone to agree with him is to agree with his own sock puppet? 😛

Roy, I hadn't notice.  Very sharp of you.

If someone were to decide to register two different IDs at roughly the same time because they have nothing better to do than troll - and I'm not suggesting for a moment that this is true here - you think they'd not use uppercase in both IDs wouldn't you.  Doing so would be genuinely pretty dumb wouldn't it.  ;)

    @Jeffuk1

HONEST1 preceded his later incarnation by a couple of months.

You would think either of him, or his many earlier incarnations, would learn to simmer down and just be a slightly annoying regular member, but it would seem he just can’t help all the personal abuse he comes out with that gets him banned each time.

And that YouView’s firewall against his frequent returns seems to have been made by Cadbury’s 😢

TimeforTV is battering my wall. I shouldn't have to put up with this kind of abuse and its out of order. Help!

It's not the weekend though just been a long bank holiday weekend.
I emailed Youview earlier about them on the forums and for them to look into TimeforTV. To see if they was a troll.
Auto reply I got back said. We will make sure your communication is passed across the relevant person In Youview.
Not sure how you can tell if a user has been banned from the forums.

Today is Tuesday. Yesterday was Monday so nearly midweek for the ban to have taken place.
I just wondered if you had a hangover from the weekend and lost track of time.

The only downer on this is, banned until when? Is somebody's life really so sad that they feel the need to come onto the internet and abuse people? I don't get that.

We were used to seeing this over on the TalkTalk forum and some offenders had been banned 5 times or more.
They made a change on how they implemented a ban, which now means a ban is a ban for life.
I suspect though if very tech savvy they could find a way around this.

Stevef_fr8ys  the problem with that is this forum uses a third party firmware that has a firewall like a sponge.

To be fair unless it's racist homophobic or sexist we should take the sticks and stones approach.

Even the moderator didn't except he/she was a Troll.

Personally I believe we should inhabit the moral high ground and simply rise above infantile name calling and let the perpetrators bathe in their stupidly.

Now looking forward to the pot/kettle replies.
