TalkTalk+ Boxes no more with YouView

TalkTalk is no longer offering TalkTalk+ boxes that record, it is a shame and the service has not been updated in years and the YouView website has not been updated and some areas are outdated.

What is the future for YouView - TalkTalk.

I think TalkTalk do the Netgem 4k boxes now, but they do not have a decent PVR, only have one tuner and to be able to record you need a USB pen drive, but can only record one show at once and not watch another which seems poor.

I wish TT would improve the YouView+ boxes as this service was good, the recordings menu neatly organised with Tiles with picture and title that looks good and are easy to find recordings.

YouView neatly records shows in a series link, looks good and is easy to find.

It is a shame that no updates and improvements have happened to YouView over the last 3 /4 years.

Does this mean they are slowly ending the service which will be a shame!

Will we have to pay out for another box - Freesat has no All4 and many bugs and gets so many complaints.

- Humax Aurora - but expensive and based on Android TV with Freeview play built-in.
- Manhattan TR3  - good YouView Alternative - TV guide looks similar but has a picture of the show in the corner but you can have watch lists and it has YouTube that YouView does not have.

YouView has slowed down and no updates in ages and ages - the website remains the same for years and no marketing of the service, even on free sites like Facebook and other platforms.

Will YouView up its game and improve it?
Will YouView Grow and develop a more modern service to aid growth and development?
Or will they just take funding to pay staff and forget the consumers of the service and let us down with no improvements!

Who knows - no one keeps the consumers informed these days, YouView say we rely on TalkTalk and BT and TalkTalk says no more YouView+ service and offers 4k Netgem.

Without the recording facility, it is not much better than the apps and features in a smart TV

    I had honestly never come across these abbreviations.

    You certainly do learn something new everyday.

    DNR - stands for Did Not Read and neither did I. DNFTT means Do Not Feed The Troll. I've not got a clue what TL stands for. I'm no moderator, but Roy -  acronyms on the forum are not allowed. TTFN! Ta Ta for now. :)

    Hey @TIME4TV in the words of your own thread title, why don't you just say "Goodbye?"

    To quote @TIME4TV on another thread.

    What waffle.

    @Visionman TL is too long.

    Which is quite ironic coming from Roy.  😁

    Had to be pedantic (LOL) but are they acronyms or a initialism? (WTF)
    Could someone clarify ASAP.

    @Visionman

    As @Stevef_fr8ys correctly says, TL means Too Long, and is the reason for the Did Not Read.

    But Visionman, you are not seriously condemning me to be saying High-Definition Multimedia Interface every time, are you? Or have to keep describing the thing that puts the blue in Blu-Ray as Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation?

    You will be giving @redchiz fits 😢

    Acronyms are not allowed? That’s not a rule here - even the Moderators admit that they like to LOL 😛

    Just like @TIME4YOU, I'm not falling for it. Go annoy someone else, if they can be bothered.

    So this is another new rule you aren’t making? You can post, but nobody must reply? 🤯

    Not gonna happen😀
