@kodikid that Roku box for less than £10 on QVC was a Black Friday weekend deal and you still had the P&P to pay but was still a good price. Its now go up to £29 plus P&P. Youview seems to be fallen behind with the lack of apps. Better off with a Firestick or a Roku box. As I have said many times before I love my Firestick and in the last 16 or 17 months now use that more than the Youview box. My sister now uses the Firestick I got her for her Christmas last year a little more than she did when I first got her it.
Checked on the PBS site and it gives a current list...
all the usual suspects are there (roku, firestick etc)
It mentions now available on Freeview play and coming to other platforms shortly.
Nowhere could I find a direct connection to it coming to youview .
So it's a classic case of wait and see.
But at the risk of constantly repeating yourself if you really want it now just invest in a dedicated streaming device.
QVC recently had a roku device for less then a tenner so it really isn't a big outlay.
Can you quote your sources. PBS is avaliable on Roku in the US but PBS america seems only avalaible via freeview play or over the air. For amazon access you have to subscribe and pay.

No one mentioned it would be free. But I basically just Googled PBS america app uk. Think it was the Cordbuster site.
Due to various edits this thread is now almost impossible to understand, so here's a reconstuction:
1) rbannocks:
Is the PBS America app going to be on Youview. Its already on Freeview play.
2) kodikid:

5) kodikid:
[Original comment] Can you believe I just googled PBS app on Freeview.....radical me....
[Edit 1 some time later] No one mentioned it would be free.

Think it was the Cordbuster site.
[Then some time later he completely deletes the comment]
And you might like to apologise to @rbannocks for the sarcastic comment - the one that you've now edited out.
Finally kodikid edits comment 2 to say:
Due to the relentless negatively and hostility on this alleged community I have decided not to continue here.
I presume this is a response to my comment (6), so here are a few observations...
a)The cordbusters item says "...PBS America Player will be their first free catch-up player, and will only be available on Freeview Play (for now, at least)." but kodikid says "No one mentioned it would be free."
b)I think that his comment "Can you believe I just googled PBS app on Freeview.....radical me...." is really unpleasant sarcasm and that as a new member to the forum rbannocks would probably see it that way.
c) I think it's important to note how his source evolves:
"Checked on the PBS site ..."
"...just googled PBS app on Freeview..."
"...basically just Googled PBS america app uk..."
d) He initially says that the PBS America player is available from a dedicated streaming device "(roku, firestick etc)".
Then rbannocks says "Can you quote your sources" and he can't so he changes the subject to what it will cost.
e)The only useful accuate information from kodikid for rbannocks is "it's a classic case of wait and see."
There's also actually a significant general problem here.
The ability to edit posts can easily be abused and I suspect is hard for the moderators to detect.
Like me, the mods have probably got an email trail of what was originally said. But by and large, editing is used responsibly here by most people (all but one?) and it would be a shame to be like the Now Community, where you have a certain short length of time only to edit a post you have made.
And we have an excellent anti-edit tool - quote what was being said, when replying. Works for most things, though perhaps not those posts that have been changed from what the email said before you even get on the Community again, unless you deploy a certain low cunning, and edit the quoting by using the content of the email 🥲

On the Digital Spy forums that I use a lot you only get about 30mins after you post to edit your post. Do like the Youview community forums and at times they can be helpful and have most good friendly and helpful members and staff.
