Hi All,

Please feel free to discuss BT Humax Software Update 32.144.0 / 3.8.70.

This is a maintenance software release for BT devices which includes a fix for an issue with Amazon Prime content not playing in some circumstances.

Thanks,
Alex

    thanks for the update

I think Prime is a little faster, 2 seconds to respond to each press rather than the
     3 to 5 second lag

and overall box picture quality seems back to normal on broadcasts and when streaming...   I just crammed 2 seasons of Jack Ryan on Prime and it had been dull and lacking sparkle...   having fallen asleep I need to to go back after this box update, to recap an episode and finish season 3.  The difference post update on the same stream of the same episode was startlingly better and back to what the box used to manage

the odd "new" green horizontal bar I mention on Prime, appearing for two to five seconds as a programme starts is still there (see the thread on 32.143.0 for detail)

This update has messed up my recordings. I see a list of my recording but when I try to play any one of them I get a Blank Black Screen, instead of seeing the program.

I have latest update, but still having issues with Prime video content. I have sound but no picture and does not come back when I try to return to main menu. Who should I tell?

    @PDGBTUSER

I’m on this release, and recordings made before and after the update are working fine.

What percentage of your storage does MYTV/Recordings show as Free?

Have you tried resetting your box with a Maintenance Mode update?

Option 2 will give it a bit of a shake-up, while still preserving all your recordings, if they are indeed still there.

Give this a try and let us know how you get on.

We’re on this release, and while we wouldn’t normally watch Amazon Prime this way, I thought I’d try it to see how it was for us now. It brought up the family profiles (so we must have set it up in the past on this YouView box) and I chose mine

To start with, it’s dreadfully slow.

And trying to watch the rest of an old episode of New Amsterdam we had abandoned:-

First attempt, it brought up Clarkson’s Farm instead of New Amsterdam, and started playing that. It’s possible that it missed some of our keypresses, or still had some stored up, but the focus was definitely on NA at the time.

Second attempt, we actually got NA, but the intro screen generally rather than the episode starting, to confirm we wanted to continue where we left off, rather than go back to the start. Fair enough.

But on starting the episode, we found ourselves staring at the LG TV’s ‘No Signal’ screen. As the YouView box slowly cranked itself back into life, we realised that the Amazon Prime app had crashed the YouView box.

Wow, just wow. I don’t think anything ever has crashed any of our YouView boxes since the BFIS on our first T1000 back in 2012.

Third attempt, it all worked OK, and we were finally able to see the episode of NA we had selected.

My judgement is though that the Prime app needs a rather more powerful engine than the T2100 I was trying this on, to give a comfortable user experience.

Update overnight. Today none of the preset recordings recorded and the record button no longer works. All fine prior to update and memory etc are not full

    my observations

    1) all TV quality, broadcasts and streaming is much better than the last update
    2) my recording's work just fine
    3) my prime is working, and it is faster than its been for more than a year with this fix - but you must wait three seconds after every button press and then everything works perfectly (it was 4 to 5 seconds lag before this update)
    4) I do still see the new thin green horizontal full screen line a third of the way down the screen for 4 seconds after prime stuff first plays (its not on an any other content) this is "a new feature this year"
    5) nearly ALL new updates are pushing old hardware to their limits - for more than 4 years a sky box update throws them in a tail spin till you turn it off and force it to reinstall correctly - then it will work faultlessly till the next forced OTA update confuses its brain - this is the behaviour I work with on this box too now...  kill at the socket after the update installs and start again
