This morning my Youview box in bedroom seems to have lost internet connection and that box would not turn on.
It's connected via Ethernet direct to the BT Smart Hub as Hub is in same room.
Its not a prob box I using.
Have switched off Youview box and let it reboot with no luck.
Have also noticed that box has taken a min or so longer to reboot.
Any ideas would be helpful.
Edit just tried maintenance mode keep recordings and it says sorry, selected option failed.
My Youview box in living room still works fine but if this box ever gives up up then it will mean I no longer have Youview as even Amazon are slowly running out of stock of the Youview retail boxes and will have to buy a Freeview Play pvr for recording tv programmes and I do love Youview.

Hmm, maybe try swapping out the ethernet cable, or a different port on the hub if you haven't already tried that?

Thanks for your reply have tried another ethernet cable with no luck.
Box has also jammed twice the day and I have had to switch box off at the switch at the back of box then after a min switch box back on and let it reboot.

Which model of box is it? Perhaps it is just sadly beyond it's use by date.  😕

T1200 Youview box. Had box a good 3 or 4 years.
I do have another Youview box in living room that still works fine.
I cancelled BT TV a good 11 months and went with Now direct with discounts so cant ask BT to send a replacement box.
Do really like the Youview box but given time think I may end up no longer having Youview if the box in living room goes the same way though time.

T2100 perhaps? Have you had a good fiddle around at the ethernet port on the box, bit of gentle blowing, brushing, etc? Because from what you have said that seems to be the problem area if you cannot get an internet connection.

Have not tried a bit of a gentle blowing, brushing will give that a try and see if that works but just seems strange box has also jammed(frozen) twice the day and I have had to reboot box.

@redchiz Have tried gentle blowing, brushing with no luck.
Have rebooted the Youview box and it toke a good few mins longer than normal to reboot. As it sat on the Youview loading screen for a good min or so. For a few secends I though was as not going to reboot.
Have also now taking the Youview box from living room thats similar modal to the one upstairs to give that a try in my bedroom and that seems to work fine.
So im sadly guessing it maybe the Youview box thats playing up and going to end up packing in.

    @Darren

I suspect the failed internet is a symptom, not a cause, as a YouView box is (just about) usable without the internet, and the loss of it does not make the other symptoms you have happen.

Your last-ditch option is a Settings/Factory Reset or an MM Option 5 (they are equivalent) though this does wipe any recordings you have; but if that doesn’t bring it back, then nothing will.

There still seem to be plenty of YouView boxes on eBay and CeX.

@Roy thanks for your reply I did this afternoon try a MM Option keep recordings and that failed.
Will try the other tomorrow after work.
Dont use eBay much but will look at CeX if all fails to fix the Youview box.

Getting a Youview box of Ebay and it should arrive end of week.
Its not the pro box but similar one to the one that seems to have packed in.
Also my BT FTTC contract is due to end in 7 days time and was thinking over the last 2 weeks of getting a new BT deal but they have now changed the deal I was offered last week to one thats not as good even if still a sort of saving.
I have now decided to move to Sky for my FTTC up to 65mb speeds with there Sky broadband boost add on service for much the same price as BT are now offering me.
May in the next few months look at upgrading to FTTP when its turned on in my area. Depending on price.
