STV Player

The STV player on my LG TV with You view, must be the worst ever app. It drops out regularly then does not return to the place where left off. Then I have to search for the programme again and start at the beginning of the programme and suffer all the adverts again. This is 2023. What does it take to get a reliable and user friendly app?

This forum is for YouView box and YouView based connected TV.

You would be better off posting on a dedicated LG forum or better still addressing this to STV as the App owners and developers. You TV is only the means of delivering the app and only provide what is supplied by the app owners.

LG TVs don’t have YouView. Have you got YouView confused with Freeview?

Or have you got a Sony Android/Google TV, which does have YouView?

Or a YouView box plugged into an LG TV?

But like @Stevef_fr8ys says above, you need to take this up with STV, the suppliers of the app. Though it’s worth noting that all the apps associated with commercial channels seem to have trouble from time to time with returning from the adverts to the programme (though curiously never any trouble going into them), and dreadful trouble putting you back where you should be when you start again, as none of them seem to cache your progress bar, as they ought.

The STV Player app is not a great app and I only use it if I really have to but as @Roy says every app with ads seems to have a problem every once in a while.
