Moving from BT FTTC to Sky FTTC on similar package
Think I know the answers but thought I would ask anyway.
My switch from BT FTTC to Sky FTTC is due to happen in the next few days.
Was wondering will I need to retune the Youview box or will the Now channels just disappear from the Youview EPG after I plug the ethernet cable from the new Sky Hub to the Youview box and will the Youview box still have the BT logo on the EPG.
Also not that I use the Youview box much for apps as I manly use the Amazon Firestick but will the Prime Video app still be there on the Youview box after switch isp.

It may take the box a while to notice the change of ISP, and a soft reset will help it on its way, but:-
The Now channels will disappear;
The EPG will revert to the standard, non-branded, YouView EPG;
The presence or absence of the Prime Video app is a function of the box model, not of the ISP, so it will remain.
I take it you only had BT as your ISP, and didn’t have BT TV? There would be a few other changes if you did.
A tip I always suggest on a change of router is to consider setting the new router to have the same SSID and password as the previous one. Not a consideration for wired devices like the YouView box, but it means you make one change in one place, instead of having to painstakingly reconfigure all your WiFi devices, which this way will instantly connect to the new router.
Just remember, if you ever have to factory reset the router, to remake these two settings afterwards.
So in over the last year I have only had my isp with BT.
Also changing to Skys version of BTs digital voice on pay as you go. Not that I will really use the service as in the last 6 or 7 months have very rarely used the landline to make calls.
Can literally download a movie in seconds.
Sad me wants to upgrade to 900mbps but swmbo recons 500 is more then enough.
Also when fttp was fitted we lost our telephone socket and given a digital voice phone for the router...we never plugged it in as everyone contacts us on mobiles and the landline calls we got were cold calls/scams anyway.
Honestly say have not missed the landline.
If I want to make a call and thats not very often I will now use my mobile.
This will be the first time I will have digital phoneline though the internet but dont think I will be using that service.
My sister has not had a phone plugged in to her landline in well over a year.
Just under 2 days till I move to Sky Broadband Superfast FTTC with Sky Broadband Boost
My BT smart Hub(Home Hub 6) did reboot this morning and I lost internet for a good 5 or 6mins.
Im expecting my BT to be fully turned off overnight the night at some point.
Than hope all goes ok with the move to Sky Superfast with Sky Broadband Boost.
All seems to have gone fine since switched to Sky yesterday after my Sky Hub rebooted twice yesterday and internet went off for a min this morning,
They did say it could take a good few days for speed and stuff to settle down.
..what's your first impressions of Sky as an isp?
Is the router provided by Sky vastly inferior to the SH2 or is there no difference?
Also getting a steady 63mb/64mb on my iPad/iPhone around the house.
There is a slight difference from the BT Smart Hub 2 but not by much.
Cant comment on the digital calls over internet. As so far not used the service.
