Hello,

Please feel free to discuss BT Software Update 4.1.22 / 0.7.82.

This is a maintenance software release for BT TV Box Pro devices which contains fixes for the below issues:
  • HDMI Display Settings showing "Unsupported Format" after a Factory Reset.
  • Frame Rate Matching causing output to be in 60hz in some circumstances.
Thanks,
Alex

    Woo hoo. 👍👍👍

And if live broadcast stutter is fixed too I’ll be a very happy fella.

I’ve just received the box update. However, it’s 4.1.22/0.7.82. Anyway, I’ll check it over the coming days and report back.

Set my box to smart standby mode last night as this was a guaranteed way for the box to go into 60hz mode when it came out of standby (for previous software releases). However, with the new software this morning when coming out of standby the box locked up. The box is set back to ‘always on’ now. With the previous software I would randomly see the box revert to 60hz every week or so in always on standby mode - I’ll keep you posted.

Unfortunately the stutter is still there. I know that isn’t in the list of fixes. Strangely no stutter last night but it returned this morning.

I haven't noticed much of a stutter in the last week or so, I still think there has been the odd once or twice, but nothing like what it was, I will monitor it properly.

Stutter still there, when camera is moving through a scene, maybe following a car, or a bird flying for instance, the picture judders.

I have found an article saying if you are getting picture stutter (picture interpolation), turn motion flow in your tv picture advance settings to off, mine was set to auto, I have just done this and will keep you updated.

I wouldn't bother trying to sort the stutter problem with adjusting the interpolation as I mentioned above, this in fact makes the picture worse (not as clear), and the stutter is still there. I have switched my motion flow on my tv back to auto, and if it stutters again, just pause for 2 seconds and it goes away for a while.

I turn off motion flow completely anyway. I can’t stand the soap opera effect. The stutter is definitely the fault of the BT Pro Box. The stutter is a very odd issue as it’s only there on live TV, and by time shifting with the record button it goes away. I just can’t see how it could be a hardware fault, so my suspicion is still a firmware/software problem. It looks like a frame sync’ing problem like you would see on a gaming console where it’s dropping frames where performance can’t keep up with the frame rate. Of course only an analogy but the effect is very similar.

On another note no 60hz bug since installing this update - so far so good for eliminating the 60hz bug.
