Retune - No Progress Bar?

It's been a long while since I did a manual retune, but both Humax T2000's asked for one (my TalkTalk box had already updated).
It was disconcerting to be faced with a screen searching for channels with no progress bar or update fields. I thought there used to be one, or am I dreaming there was one?
Why is there no bar or update on number of channels found? My initial reaction was nothing was happening and was tempted to press Stop.
