Please feel free to discuss the Humax Retail Software Update 32.144.10 / 3.8.132 in this thread.

This is a maintenance software release for T2000 devices which includes a fix for the issue preventing the status bar from appearing during a channel scan when retuning your device and no new features.

    This error of no status bar effects other boxes i.e. DTR - T4000

    So either BT box users are the poor relations, or Retail box users are the guinea pigs 😛

    The update is only for  T2000 devices  not all retail.

    Holdout T10x0 users have quite enough on their plates without being used as lab rats. That’s why their boxes are functionally stabilised 😛

    T1000s don't need a software update to reinstate the tuning status bar. They never lost it.

    What do you mean by holdout T10x0 users? :p
    There is no point in discarding a working pvr.

    @jonesh

    Sure, and I still have my original T1000 (or its replacement after an early BFIS at least) and the recordings I made on it. Which I really must watch one day 😛

    But it’s nice to know that if I am away from my T4000 when an ITV programme I want is in the offing, I can schedule a recording of it via the remote app, or failing that, I can watch it on catchup when I am home again.

    A couple of things your ‘working PVR’ can no longer do 😢

    I have devices with the functionality that you describe.

    And if any of them are YouView boxes, then doesn’t that exactly prove my point? 😛

    But you know we are just jesting; a still-working T10x0 is a tribute to the longevity of YouView’s original design concept, even as it slowly loses its faculties. Like my 2012 Samsung TV, on which hardly a single native app survives, whose smarts are handled by an Amazon Firestick - though even there the Gen 1 Firestick it gained in 2015 had to be put out to grass in favour of a later version - but the actual TV picture, HD, is good to this day.

    I also asked about the next update...but was misunderstood.
    My DTR-T2000 is stuck on 32.137.10/3.8.58 and will not update. Nor can I get it to go into maintenance mode.
    I have about 1TB of recordings on it, so I don't want to do a full factory reset and lose them all.
    Any other suggestions?

    @dawntee

    Yes, and I was the one who misunderstood you, based on the thread you posted in 😢

    So you do have the issue of a box stuck on a release before one that has finished rolling out…

    Assuming that 144 has finished rolling out, and not just been overtaken by 146, something that I think we need @Alex at YouView to confirm.

    The question then, though, is still is there anything else wrong with your box? Usually, when a box won’t go into Maintenance Mode, there are other symptoms.

    Are your thumbnails all present as they should be on the Home Screen, showing that your internet is working OK?

    What do you see on Settings/Software?

    What happens if you try the (recordings preserving) soft reset, on a fully powered up box, by holding down the power button on the front of the box for just over eight seconds?

    And, to confirm, you are carrying out the instructions for a T2000, which is the box model you have?

    HUMAX DTR-T2000

    1. Unplug and reconnect power to your box

    2. Press and hold the down navigation touch button  on the front of the box for 5 seconds, until you see Enter Maintenance Mode Y/N (Y:POWER) prompt

    3. Press the supportSiteInlineImage  button on the front of the box. If you do not press the power button within 5 seconds the box will boot up normally

    4. The box should now enter maintenance mode

    5. Choose your preferred option from the Maintenance Mode Options(see list of available resets at the top of the page) and follow the on screen instructions

    And you do Step 1, and then immediately Step 2 without waiting for the box to complete its power up, but you never see the Enter Maintenance Mode message on the screen?

    32.146.10 / 3.8.138 has indeed rolled out fully @dawntee, as @Roy suggested please try a reset through maintenance mode keeping your recordings and attempt a software update.

    Thanks  @Alex

    But did you possibly mean that 144 is fully rolled out - it was 144 I asked about - as 146 is shown as still rolling out?

    @Roy
    Could a full HDD be a factor in a box not updating its software?
  • RoyRoy Member, Super User Posts: 17,791 ✭✭✭
    @jonesh

    Not as far as I know, as I think ‘Full’ only ever applies to the data area, and the system area is reserved before ever a programme is recorded.

    But certainly, @dawntee has a full, or nearly full, disc, and it may be worth knowing what percentage full it is.
