    if so that would be a regression bug as it was sorted I believe on software update 32.144.0 / 3.8.120 at the start of April

    as I wrote these days the boxes don't boot up normal from an update - once it claims to be updated - power off on the switch at the back and start all over again - it helps

    funny enough mine locked up when off and unresponsive yesterday (on the one in my link above - not been offered the new one where I am yet )

    That 32.144.0 / 3.8.120 release, curiously unannounced here, as far as I can see, but visible in Software Updates:-
    https://support.youview.com/youview-box/software-updates/bt-software-update-32-144-0-3-8-120/
    doesn’t admit to doing anything in particular,

    @Shaun F

    Oh, and isn’t it about time we had some more recent ‘Featured Topic’ thumbnails? 😛

    here's a good point

    on the DTRT2100 I always get two messages when I manually check for updates
    1) Update software - it goes to check - usually saying you have the latest - but last round first time ever it found and did an update
    2) Update apps - ALWAYS says, Can't update your Apps

    Apps do update when the whole box updates.  But the strange one is the DTRT4000 will do exactly the same for 1) Update software.  But on 2) Update apps, the 4000 will at least try and looks for updates then says nothing newer - been like this for at least three years on both boxes

    I'm still not getting the latest update - rebooted the fibre box and router and powered on off the box

    @botus

    When an update schedule decides to include your box that night, the update becomes available for any manual update you might request that day.

    So depending on how often you try manual updates, you may occasionally catch one, but if you miss the day it arrives, it will update anyway, overnight.

    Hi Roy,

    the point I was trying to make on the 2100 "app update" always says can't
    but the same menu structure on the 4000 always says you have the latest - rather than failed - like the 2100 has always done

    Yes sure, I got that.

    My point was explaining why getting a manual update is so rare, because the only window for it is the day before it was going to update overnight anyway.

    In case you, or anyone else, ever wondered why it was so rare to see it.

    Was there anything with HDMI in this update? Overnight last night our box HDMI port is no longer outputting a picture - SCART is fine but obviously rubbish quality... Have tried maintenence software reset, updates, factory reset etc etc, but HDMI port is just black screen (it's not the TV as tried on another). The device can see TV attached as it reports the available 720p, 1080i, 1080p resolutions in settings (viewed through SCART output) but simply has no output!??!?!

    Greetings, and welcome to the Community!

    I don’t think so, but can you check if your box (what model, by the way?) has indeed had the update in question?

    Hi @kehall - do you have another HDMI cable you are able to try with your box?

    @shaun F

    There is an omnishambles here 😢

    @botus, are you still not on 144, or is it 146 you are waiting for?

    But I don’t think you being on Crystal Palace goes any further than affecting where you get your terrestrial channels from; the data, including the software updates, comes for all of us from YouView’s servers.

    While the thread is titled for 146, it looks like the first posting, made April 25, was edited on 2nd May to reference 144 (instead of 146)?

    I had observed earlier that there had been no announcement of the BT 144. Now there is, sort of, but even the altered (corrected?) posting is still tagged 146.

    Whatever, there are still not separate announcement threads for BT 144 and BT 146, as there should be.

    There has been BT 144/146 confusion all the way down the line with these two releases, and it is still going on.

    My bedroom BT box is on 144, hopefully waiting for 146, and the lounge box is already on 146, so at least I can see that both releases do genuinely exist.

    Could somebody at YouView please untwine the relevant thread(s) and re-establish coherence?

    sorry Roy,

    forgot I posted a question - I'm on 3.8.120 and 32.144.0   had it about  a month - Prime is slow but gets there in the end

    but why does the notification still show on the home page ? and yet also list a new one I'm not getting ?

    @botus

    Announcement threads always show at the top of the Home page, as a Featured Topic, even above later user threads.

    The trick I use is that initially each one has a little chevron (v) and if you tap/click this it offers you ‘Dismiss’ and if you dismiss the thread, and refresh the page, then the announcement thread still remains, and is still a Featured Topic, but it takes up its position on the page according to the strict chronology of latest posting, like any ordinary thread.

    As regards this thread here, please read my posting above. This thread doesn’t know if it’s a BT 144 announcement thread or a BT 146 announcement thread, but it is doing duty for both, as the only thread for both.

    Which is wrong, of course, but I’m sure YouView will sort it out on or after this coming Monday.

    The state of play at the moment is that BT 144 has been fully rolled out, and BT 146 is still rolling out - I have a box on BT 146, and another box on BT 144 waiting for BT 146 to arrive.

    So if you are on BT 144, that’s all fine and expected, and you should get BT 146 in the near future.

    If you are BT, not Pro, and still on a release earlier than BT 144 though, you have a problem, and should report this here.

    You can keep track of things on this page:-
    https://support.youview.com/youview-box/software-updates/latest-software-versions/

    If you have a BT box still on BT 144 when that page shows ‘Complete’ for BT 146 for your box, or shows a further release is rolling out for your box, then that is the time to worry about being stuck on BT 144: but we haven’t got to that point yet.

    If there’s anything I haven’t answered, please ask again.

    its all rather odd - I see channel 4 catch up Icon just went to a green icon colour - how does this update if the software number hasn't evolved too ?

    and HOW are ch4 allowed to peddle a streaming service when the Miami F1 catch up is twice as bad a ropy VHS tape on fast forward - you get about 8 frames per second at best - its unbelievable

    @botus

    Channel Four just decided that bilious green was the thing and started transmitting that. Probably just a server-side change that does not require a new app 🤢🤮

    Unless the poor quality you observe on the F1 replay is confined to the YouView app - and possibly even if it is - you will have to take this up with Channel Four themselves.

    But I’m not sure if streaming quality is mandated anywhere, and even less sure if any body is charged with the responsibility of policing this 😛

    Hi all, apologies - but yes there was a typo in the original post (now corrected). We did have a thread for 32.144.0 / 3.8.70 which has completed rolling out, this software update (32.146.0 / 3.8.124) is in the process of rolling out currently.
