Remote for Youview box not working.

The remote for one of my Youview box seem to now not be working.
Its a T2010 recorder box. Have replaced the batteries but when I press any button on the remote the blue light on the remote seems to stay on for a good few seconds then goes off but nothing seems to happen as channels dont change with the remote and cant go into setting with the remote also.
I do have a spear remote that I kept the remote from the old Youview box that packed in a few months ago and that remote works on the Youview box.
Just wondering what could have happened to the remote that I was using.

    Does your remote have a BT Player button?

    If so, could you have accidentally pressed it?

    @Roy No it has a blue Y bottom.

    On the back of the box there's a simple on/off switch..switch it off and leave a minute or two then reset the remote if it isn't already working.

    Well, so has mine - second from left in this link when you expand the first item :-

    and yet it has a BT Player button directly above the blue Y button, as do several of the other BT remotes shown there.

    @roy yes my remote has a BT Player button. Just above the Y blue button.
    In the link it’s the 4th remote in the BT/Plusnet.

    @kodikid have already tried turning the box of at the back and switching it back on. 
    Think it’s the remove not the box thats stopped work as a spear remote I got in the house from another box that had stopped works works with the box.

    Have you tried reseting the remote

    Never even thought about trying resetting the remote. Will give it a try.

    So having established that you do have this button, could you have pressed it by accident, and put the remote into a weird state?

    Though if so, the reset suggested above will fix it.

    Have you tested that the remote is actually transmitting codes with the old ‘look at the emitter through your mobile’s camera’ trick?

    @Roy yes I could maybe pressed the BT Player button by accident. As I have not used BT player since I canceled BT TV 16 months ago and moved my FTTC broadband to Sky just over 2 months ago.
    Have not tried testing the remote is transmitting codes with the mobile camera tick. Will try that tomorrow before I try restating the remote.

    The first mention of resetting the remote was on the 12th  by myself. 
    Obviously this doesn't count in your world
