Hi Nick - this is currently not possible.
If you take a look at the
consolidated list of improvements and feature requests
you will find various related ideas such as DLNA (idea 35), connecting USB devices (idea 36) and network file transfer (idea 67).

No, this isn't possible. It has been requested by a number of forum users but so far I don't think YouView have given any signs it's likely to be added.
