I've noticed that the fan on my Humax is running continuously even when the box hasn't been used for several days, the box is warm to the touch. I have the standby setting on lowest energy comsumption.

Are you aware, contrary to what you might expect, that the lowest energy consumption is in High-eco mode, not low?

Is the box in an enclosed space or have anything on top or below it?

I know I'm on the correct ecosetting because the box takes minutes to come on.
The box sits on a shelf by itself, plenty of ventilation and no surrounding units.

Try a soft-reset by pressing and holding the front panel standby button for eight seconds or so.
