The past few days my youview box has stopped connecting to the internet so I cant use on demand etc. the router seems fine, I'm using the wifi now to write this! Having read similar posts i have tried swapping cables, restarting, resetting, swapping plugs. When i unplug and plug in the cable it automatically picks it up and attempts to reconnect but fails. It worked fine a few days ago and nothing has changed so am reluctant to replace the box. Any help!

Have you included resetting the router in the above?

I know it is working for other ports, including the one you are writing on, but try this anyway.

I've had a similar issue in the past, where just one device was being refused connection for no apparent reason (a printer, over wifi, in that case) and power cycling the printer had no effect.

But rebooting the router brought it back straight away.

I would agree with Roy that rebooting the Router / Hub is the next thing to try. There has been a software update installed this week 18.10.10 & this may have effected things.

No luck with that, I had tried that earlier on but tried it again today. I have managed to sort it now though. Looks like some of the receiver pins in the router cable socket were bent making the connection to that port dodgy. Have swapped to a different port and seems to work fine now. Am blameing the dog for knocking the cables for this one! Thank you both for your help

Glad you got it sorted. I will add unscheduled canine intervention to the list of issues that will potentially prevent a YouView box from working :-)
