eco mode won't change from low to high

Hi. I have a similar problem. I always have my YV box set on High Eco mode but just this last week it has started only going as far as Low. This despite the settings remaining on High. I've changed the settings, switched the box off overnight, & changed them again. No matter which mode is set in settings it still only goes as far as low. Has anyone any ideas please?

    Hi Mike

I heard you the first time :-)

Have a look at my reply there.

Yes sorry about the double posting. I am aware of all your points thanks. It's the humax dtr t2100 & the front light stays purple instead of red. It just boots up quick as in low Eco mode even though high is set. It's only just started doing it, as I've said I have shut it off overnight & when I switch on again it goes red & then purple without me pressing the power button. Any ideas?

Mike, I know you switched it right off, but do try the 'touch standby button for just over 8 seconds' soft reset.

This is a bit better controlled than the mains cycling method.

And while I haven't got a T2100, nor access to one, I see from the manual that it Is supposed to be red for High Eco, and purple for Low Eco or for recording in either Eco mode.

But I would expect a box just powered on at the mains to go purple, as it needs to be in a mode where it can check if it is about to miss any recordings if it does not get a move on.

A better test might be to leave it in Standby overnight, and see if the light has gone red by the morning.

Hi Roy. Yes I'd already tried the soft rest but it hadn't worked. I've just resorted to maintenance mode keeping recordings & that seems to have done the trick. Thanks for all your help. Mike

Glad you got it sorted then. Even though BT would bring you a new box, it is always nice not to have to kiss goodbye to the recordings you haven't yet watched :-)
