you should see your box model listed and what the current status of software is and whether there is currently a rollout in progress for your particular box.
Will this update be available for subscription-free T2200 boxes?
27.x is Next Gen (or x.43.x on Huawei devices), the rollout marked as "complete" on that page is for a 26.x release - Next Gen has not been released for BT YouView Plus (i.e. non-zapper) boxes yet.
Will this update be available for subscription-free T2200 boxes?
No, the joys of BT YouView Plus will be released in due course. On T2XXX BT models. The new skin BT Player is a joy to use. After that its just like retail... Oh fluff me. I've just realised the demographics of different YV user groupings. Oh my, I'm not looking forward to this release... A 400% increase in forum traffic from TT & retail users? With BT to come? Right, wheres the nearest bunker?
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.
Oh my god what a god awful update! Just left Talk Talk and came to bt,internet only and this update has infected my generic humax box. What are they thinking? The old setup was far better. Picture in picture and recording lists etc etc. Left Talk Talk for this reason among many many others. They have removed so many features my Humax box is now a piece of S*it! I loved youview apart from all the catastrophic failures I've had to endure and now I want to throw it out the window!
If you leave BT or talk talk you would still get next gen. Youview have adopted a no box left behind policy. The only difference is on any other provider you won't have BT logo in EPG. The pay channels wount be listed at 307 upwards and the BT player would be removed. Youview classic is been discontinued. No mater where you go you will have got next gen update you would just not have the BT /talk talk skin if you where not on those providers. Youview are working on bringing missing features back. It was a massive undertaking rebuilding the platform from the ground up. They switched from flash based to cloud based. Cloud based in the long run will be better just everyone needs to be patient and bear with them while they get it up and running. People tend to hate change I embraced this change. My TV is miles better then the my view lists I struggled with because of my vision issues.
Surely the software is exactly the same, whether it is Retail rollout or BT rollout. Therefore Retail came out as 27.45 (44 for BT first which was one step behind) then went to 27.46 :-
Note: This update doesn't have any new features but has a few minor bug fixes included.
Surely the 'Humax' software has the same base for every ISP, of course there may be some changes that are ISP specific that could be mentioned but if not I would assume no change.
I believe this is now upgrading to 27.46.0. Are there any changes?
I'm not trying to start an argument (honest!) but I think you've made some assumptions there. You are probably right to say that it's just small bug fixes, but it would be good to get the official line.
Are you sugesting that it could contain changed features (in contrast to 'new features)? Like Scott I too took the Youview annocement as meaning 'just' minor bug fixes. I was going to treat it as a legal statement!

Visionman - firstly please do not be so confrontational. I'm simply trying to figure out what changes there may have been. I don't see that where I ask that question should be a matter of concern. I didn't even know that this upgrade had happened until I stumbled across it on the main website's software versions page.

This thread you are on doesn't relate to the topic you are talking about. This is a 27.44.0 thread, not 27.46.0. I see you have also started your own thread about this which at the time of this posting has had zero replies. So again, if I may, problem?

@jimb Yep, you are right. That youview comment was about the differencies between youview versions 3.1.46 and 3.1.48. That still leaves the difference between 3.1.44 and 3.1.46.
A pity that there was not a new official announcment for the DTR-T2200's switch to 27.46.0 for its next gen update.
To give them more time to fix the awful Recording list .....
My box recrds, and has just received the "up-date". It is a DTR4000 and the sftware is 27.46.0. The new interface is awful! I really want to remove the tiled icons and go back to a plain list, but this option doesn't seem to exist. Also, the delete option doesen't say what's being deleted unless you select a folder. Who was involved in beta testing, and why didn't they make sensible comments?
To give them more time to fix the awful Recording list .....
Having just deleted a folder rather than a single recrding (saved by i-player) and finding the new navigation screens very pretty, but a real pain to actually use, I would guess that ease of use was ignored in favour of making it look pretty!

Feel free to discuss the Humax software update 27.46.0 here.
Note: This update doesn't have any new features but has a few minor bug fixes included.

It was Youview that stated "This update doesn't have any new features but has a few minor bug fixes included. "

As per the updates page.

Visionman - The "Latest Box Versions" page clearly does not constitute an announcement.
And if you rummage around in your infallible memory you might figure out why I asked the question in the first place (6 hours ago).
