If its a single record. No problem , otherwise you have to drill down into the individual recordings , skip all the way back , because it shows the latest recording first , then delete

Thats not the issue being discussed (sorry).
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

Yes just read the question properly , could it be the function on that button is purely subtitles ?

Not that I'm aware. My remote button says DEL / sub.

Just consultef the oracle , she says in the context of the question it will turn on the subtitles , but if you go back to the thumbnails , make sure the one you want to delete is highlighted , press delete , in black and white a square comes up , Delete ot Back , press ok and its deleted

Where in the context of a Series, it is important to be 'in' the tile for the Series with the episode you want to delete selected, rather than 'outside', on the Series tile, where Delete is for the whole Series.
The context of the question surely includes an implied 'and only that programme'?
So while Visionman put his finger on why Sue was getting subtitles instead of the programme being deleted - as with CurrentGen, the programme needs not to be playing - we know she was asking about NextGen, we know the above is a pitfall of NextGen, and I don't understand why Visionman does not think it is part of the issue being discussed, and nor why you rather backed down to him?

I agree Roy, Visionman seems to have taken the view that this was an invalid or stupid question when many of us know that the new system is confusing & cumbersome, especially with regard to recordings.

The person asking a valid question wanted a simple solution , one which would have been the Delete/Sub button no longer works as a Delete on playback , then a brief How To
If its a single record. No problem , otherwise you have to drill down into the individual recordings , skip all the way back , because it shows the latest recording first , then delete
That would be incorrect then. The Delete/Sub button never worked as a Delete button on playback.
Indeed, if it ever had, how would anyone ever have turned on Subtitles while watching a recording?

OK, I've fed this back to YouView. In a future update when trying to delete a series (and not a single recording) the message will read as follows -
Delete the whole series? Are you sure? Are you sure you want to delete [number] recordings of [insert series name here]? User still presses DELETE, at which point in a new update, now a further message pops up -
Are you really really sure you want to delete this entire series? User still presses DELETE. Are you sure no one else in your household wants to watch this? Press Y/N.
User presses yes, then DELETE. OK, but don't say we didn't warn you. Series deleted.
A few hours later partner wanders in and accesses MyTV. "Hey... wheres my series recording gone?" "Oh, that bloody box is playing up again." "Thats four times now." "Yeah." "Oh, come on YouView!"
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.
Select MyTV - Move the cursor over the content you wish to delete (but don't access or click on it). Press the DEL/sub button and this message will (should) appear - Delete recording? Are you sure you want to delete this recording?
If yes, press OK and it should then be gone.

A recipe that would delete the entire series if applied on a tile with more than one recording beneath it :-(
Or, depending on your point of view, you might want to describe this as the recipe failing.
Either way, a somewhat incomplete 'How To' :-(
