If anyone is having difficulty using the recordings page this may help.
I have previously posted this elsewhere, but as its on the .45 thread it could quite easily be swallowed up.
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

Hi Paul, and yes, thats quite easy to tell. I'll use one of my MyTV as an example -

First enter MyTV. The mini-bar displayed will show the latest recordings you have made.
If you haven't watched one it will just show the date
If you have it will show 'WATCHED'
If you have started to watch one but not finished, it will show 'PART WATCHED'
All of the above are displayed above the name of the content recorded.
And its the same on the main MyTV page.

If you start watching a part watched recording, but decide you want to watch it from the beginning again, press and hold the OK button on the remote for 3 seconds and it will take you back to the beginning again.

If you have a number of recordings over a number of pages, you can use the remotes channel up/down button to scroll your recordings page by page, as opposed to tile by tile.
Any recordings made pre-NextGen won't display a picture and so will be blank.
One of my blank tiles lists -
    Fri 25 DEC
    The name of the content
    13 EPISODES

    Hope that helps.

VM I just thought I would mention a majority of my recordings made before next gen don't have blank tiles. Some do granted but most don't.

And that's supposed to be easier than just reading a list with the full title? Words fail me but it just shows there is no hope that YouView will revert back or give you a choice of the recordings as a list display.

How does your comment help move this topic forward Bill C?
How does it help other users get to know and familiarise themselves with the new menu page?
Is your comment contributive or helpful in any way to the topic at hand on a thread that stands apart from others?
A thread that I created to help other users with this new format?
    How?

Sorry, but I agree with Bill. I hate the way recordings are now shown and would dearly love the option to go back to the old way. I have over 85 recordings of the Big Bang Theory, and it's so tedious having to scroll back through these to teach he oldest one.

Thanks for the description above, Visionman.

Could you now maybe drag the thread back onto topic by covering how to use and read those recording tiles that cover series, and how to use and read what you find when you delve into such a tile?

"How do you stop a recording once it has started?"

Whilst you are watching the content, press the 'Rec' button again. A panel will then come up offering the options of -
    Stop recording
    Record series

To further expand on this topic, if anyone misses the removal of the Mini TV (PiP) and the ability to browse the EPG whilst keeping the current channels picture, this is still possible on NextGen. Heres how to do it -
Whilst your watching a live channel, press left or right on the remotes outer wheel and a mini EPG will pop up on the channel your currently watching, showing whats on now and next.
From here you can then press either up or down to see the channels above or below it. Though in this format, when channel searching, up is down and down is up. Or you can just punch in the channel number and the mini guide will go to that channel whist still keeping the current channels full picture.

The new-look BT TV mini guide

For those that miss the mini guide, useful to say the least.

These threads of yours are a bit do-it-yourself, Visionman :-(

It seems more like you have tried to create some headings for other people to post under, than to have posted any useful information yourself.

When I see a thread called 'How to use and read the recordings page' I expect it to tell me that.

Much as when the tour guide sticks up her umbrella to gather the tour party together, I expect her to tell me what we are looking at, and not the other way round :-)

So bump, also, for my request you tell us about Series handling on the Recordings page,

Not likely. I have come across a number of new users saying my TV is not user friendly. I think it is but obviously if peoples opinions differ not much one can do. This post clearly had the intention of helping people even if you personally can't see a point to it I can. I'm sure VM won't lose sleep if Roy manages to overtake him in forum points again.

    As requested-
Series stacks (folders) are listed in a back to front order so that if one has 100 episodes recorded, the home cursor lands on the latest episode recorded and not (in the logical order of) the oldest.
One then has to scroll back through 99 episodes to get to the episode one wants.
Upon finishing watching, the UI will then kick the user out of the series stack and onto the main MyTV homepage. So to delete the watched recording, one then has to repeat the above process again and again. Over and over.

No action (or hardly any action) needed on my part.

The leaderboard is a game of snakes and ladders. Every day, you lose the points you scored 30 days ago (the snake), and add the points you scored that day (the ladder).

30 days ago, you were very active, and I was moving house.

So you have a bag of big snakes waiting for you, while I have a bag of small snakes.

Not that I pay these things very much mind, of course :-)

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but MyTV shows the series tiles in order of the latest episode so if you delete the newest episode then MyTV will rearrange the order of the tiles.

What do you mean exactly by " MyTV will rearrange the order of the tiles" when I try all that happens is when I delete the latest episode recorded, the order stays the same, minus the latest episode recorded, which I've just deleted! Am I missing something?
