Nice improvement. Keep em coming :-)

I especially like the definition between each tile now.

Also shows there is promise behind the faster rollout of improvements.

I am going to be honest I did like the large tile. Key word DID. I much prefer the change as the tiles are now larger and with my vision issues the larger the better.

I could see the old screen with the large tile on better than the lists and could manage my recordings a lot better without having to occasionally asking my wife to find a recording. However the layout on the update is a further improvement on that.

Next gen has made a massive difference to me and it keeps getting better and better. Keep up the good work youview.

Nice improvement but would still like the option of choosing the start point of a recording as I could on the original ui.

I haven't got this very latest Humax update as yet, but there is one feature I find problematical and doesn't look as if it's been addressed.  When I go to delete a tile, it comes up with the dialogue to confirm but doesn't actually confirm which programme instance I am about to delete (except where I am deleting a series of recordings, it seems).  I'm always just a bit worried that I may be about to delete the wrong item and so it would be useful if the delete confirmation dialogue did also confirm what programme I was just about to delete.

I do like the new Youview user interface overall.

I really like the new update but prefer if they had left the little screen in the corner as I cannot see the negative screen due to eye problems but over all I do like

Really encouraged to see YouView responding to feedback with design improvements so speedily. If this is a pattern for the future, I may stay out of hibernation a while longer, in the hope that YouView may at last be moving in the direction of bringing the UI up to the excellence of the YouView functionality.

I'll re-iterate my oft-posted plea (5 years-worth). Please, please, please, design team - implement features with the minimum number of key-presses. Careful thought at the design stage can usually reduce the number of key-presses - in some cases significantly. Possibly using wrap-around or even making more use of the colour buttons. A brain-storming session - "How can we reduce key-presses to implement this.." may be worthwhile, and save later changes.

However, this is a really promising start. Thanks team.

I prefer it as it is now. I like how it goes to the very useful filters. Although they could do with listing the entertainment HD channels in entertainment filter I still use the filters and find them useful I hope if they bring wrap around back that its a customisable option as I don't and have never liked or seen a need for wrap around on the EPG.

I would like the option of a recordings list. The tiles take far to long to navigate when recordings are up to 11 pages.

No need press the channel up and down on your remote to jump between the pages.

Can you please at least give us the option of a recordings list. The tiles are so difficult to navigate with 11 pages. Interesting that freesat has not followed your lead !!

I much prefer a list over tiles.
I couldn't give a rat's backside whether it looks impressive or not; I'm much more interested in a fast, functional and intuitive interface that is easy to read and assess.

With the list, I could easily see the names, dates and such because they were in columns but the tiles mean my eyes have to scan horizontally as well as vertically to ascertain the details.
Image tiles take more time to load and display than a text list and are actually harder to identify between episodes when the same image is used for all of them.

Just give us the option, is all we ask. Don't break what works perfectly well.

It was broken before its now fixed I struggled to see the tiny text in youview classic with my bad eyesight. In next gen I see everything I need a hell of a lot better.

Glad to see some calm now in the forum, can see the previous version's thread has had a tidy up, it was becoming noisy :-)

Looking forward to updates to come, this one sure shows YV are listening. Hopefully the majority will be satisfied soon and can just get down to watching great TV...

No CW, an NDA breaker announced it. Which YV then followed up with an official announcement.

I've been amazed at how quickly they have got this out which is certainly proof its no YV 1.0.

The removal of the big tile and making all others the same size and equidistant from one another has certainly helped. The effect of which now includes wider tiles with a fuller description.
And being dropped onto the oldest and first episode on a series record is a godsend.
Its still not perfect but its a start.

Hey, this sub-chat was meant light-heartedly in the first place, VM was the only one who seemed to get it, but let's drop it now please I never imagined it would spiral elsewhere.

Yes, you can jump between the pages, but you still cannot see the titles for the programs - only some of the words for the title are shown in the picture frame for a program

Do you have this update yet? You can see a hell of a lot more text on the titles on the tiles now then you could when you had the large tile in my tv which is now history.

Daniel. It is okay for people like yourself, who can identify a program from a picture.  I require the words, detailing the title of the program to give me a clue to what it is about.  A list is available for the programmers, it is just that they won't use it to give its customers a choice.  The boast is that Youview can now update its UI more easily..  That being the caes, lets have the option of a list format.
The idea of programming and software is that one person programs something so that it is made easy for 1000s or 1,000,000s of customers.
Instead we have mickey mouse programming by someone who has discovered how to use graphics.

As you say, YouView appear to be listening - let's hope they continue with frequent upgrades to make the User Interface 'usable' for its customers.
