I got a BT Youview DTRT2100 through bt when I was with them on the £5 package. I since have cancelled that and kept the box. Does this mean I won't get the recent update that I'm seeing a lot about and if so when?

Many thanks

Yes Albert, you'll still get the update and it will be sometime in the next six weeks(ish).
I'm now happy with the disagree icon, because its gone.

You will get it. Youview are having a policy of no box left behind. BT are in the process of rolling next gen software out now. Your box will stay on youview classic until its your turn as they do so many boxes at a time. If you got the box as part of a BT TV contract and continued to use it when you cancelled BT TV you will be still on bts update schedule no matter what ISP you use

Updates are available, you can update the software and apps by going into settings.  you have the choice of retaining recordings too.  If you click on the update it will tell you if you have the latest ones.

    Not quite.

It will tell you if the latest update is ready to be rolled out to you. It will not tell you whether what you have is the latest update or not.

And your comment about retaining recordings or not is just peculiar; no update ever offers this choice, and no update ever deletes your recordings anyway.

    Hi All
I too have a BT 2100 Youview box which has not been updated
Reading the above does it mean my box will update automatically in the next 5 weeks  or do i need to do something?
    Thanks

It will update automatically when it's your turn in the rollout process

    Hi
Thanks for speedy response - I read on the forum somewhere that the roll out is complete ?
    Is this incorrect?
    Thanks

No, BTs roll out continues... Its all the retail boxes that have completed.

    Hi
Just so I am clear , what are "retail boxes" my box is not linked to any BT subscription - my ISP is BT though
    Thanks for your help

If you bought it from a reputable retailer, and not at a suspiciously good price from eBay or Amazon, and it doesn't say BT on it, but it does say Humax when it boots up, then it's retail.

There are retail BT-badged boxes out there, and retail Huaweis, but these have their own rollout schedules.

My box is now bricked after the update. You have been warned.
