No sign of it for my iPad Pro in the App Store, or indeed anywhere else, so far :-(

My App Store describes the new version as the latest version but appears it is not yet available to update the previous version image

I had to blow away 18 before it would give me 19, but I have it now.

With 2 T2000s to choose from now, I had to look up the serial number.

For this the instructions say I should go to Settings/System Information/Device Information, but that middle item there is actually called Information & Reset on my box.

Seems to be OK, though, repopulated very quickly, and the Guide display is normal.

I got the app update to my IPhone 6s last night and all seems fine. Saying that I'm still to update my IPhone to IOS11

In iOS11, your most recently used apps now join the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, so you can quickly access them again if you want to.

Mine has a YouView app symbol there, with the ‘y’ in gray rather than white, and it does not do anything.

To start the YouView app, I have to use the regular icon, which is fine, but this does not alter the icon on the menu bar, or its behaviour.

After some experimentation, I find I can remove the grayed-out icon by holding my finger on it until a little minus appears on it, and then double-tapping that minus.

After this, when I go into the regular YouView icon to access the app, and exit again, the icon, with a white ‘y’, is replicated in the menu bar, and I can use it to access the YouView app as intended.

I surmise that the grayed-out icon belonged to the version 18 that I had to delete before I could get 19.

I have no clear idea if we are looking at a bug with 18, a bug with 19, or a bug with iOS11 here. Or a combination of these and bugs possibly plural.

But I figure the YouView App developers will be able to judge, and are best placed to talk to Apple if iOS11 is in any way at fault here (e.g. if it should be Apple’s job to clear the menu bar of deleted apps, rather than the App developers’, and Apple are not doing it).

On iPad only Roy, not iPhone. And it is an optional feature.

The update did occur today. From 18 to 19. On my iPad

My wife does, but is waiting for 11 to settle before installing it - very wise, as we are already at 11.01

And yes, I have found the feature, though turned on by default, is optional. If you know how to turn it off.

Which I do now - Settings/Multitasking & Dock/ Dock and toggle it - as my wife hates it on her iPad, though I like it on mine.

But whatever; as above, YouView, Apple, or just possibly me, screwed up somewhere.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Problem with Youview app on iPhone..

I am using the latest version of the youview app and it works fine, the problem is that in MYTV under recordings it lists the recordings that have been recorded, the problem is that all the recordings show failed to record, the dates are for 1 October and the 2nd of October, and it show other recordings that have failed, but the recordings are listed for today's date, when I check my youview box the recordings have been recorded.

Any help with this problem would be great.

    Thanks

    Matthew

    Hi Matthew,

Can you confirm that this is happening on the 11.0.19 version of the iOS app?

Also just to clarify, your scheduled recordings for the 1st and 2nd of October are showing as failed despite them being in the future? Can you let us know what shows you had set to record?

    Thanks,
    Sarah

I’ve been experimenting with the App - prior to needing to use it for real  when I go on holiday

Is there a consolidated list of known problems or FAQ that can be search to avoid repeating questions?

I can’t see any way of achieving delete actions from the App:-

1 - Deleting a recording from the app

    • Whilst away I may wish to stop a complete series recording e.g. various news programmes

    • There also may be a new programme I  want record, which clashes with other recordings – Therefore I might wish to  move a programme (delete it and set it to record on the  +1 channel)

    • Etc.

2 - Delete items out of the App’s bookings list. Do they age out?

Are the items below recognised as requirements?

A  -  Requirement  - The Apps EPG to show the red button record symbol for all recordings – as per the main Youview box

B - I have a mini IPad - some of the programme channel’s titles within the EPG are  not eye legible. Requirement - make  the screen image so it can be “grabbed” and expanded.
